I purchased an NEC LCD from Staples 2 years ago because of a post here with a link to a $90 rebate requiring purchase from an authorized dealer. My rebate submission was rejected because "...Staples was not an authorized dealer of NEC products."
Never again.

why the heck wouldn't newegg be eligible? they're hosting the rebate ON their site.

Seems like a smoking deal with that $50 discount. Anyone have these and want to comment on the comfort?

The little ear things are pretty comfortable. Nothing to complain about. There are three different sizes for people to choose from. I'm using the smallest ones

FYI - the cable is asymmetrical. In other words, the right ear bud has a longer cord in comparison to the left ear bud. It's fine for me because I usually only use one earbud when I'm out and about, but it might be a negative for some.

other forums are reporting success and every hotdeal forum from fatwallet to slickdeals all have linked to newegg as the seller. this deals been going for at least a week, but its been out of stock for most of that time when it sold out on the first day the deal first broke. now its back in stock. people have claimed the turn around for the rebate handling is quite fast. less than a week

Thanks for that. I've heard that one earbud cord is longer than the other one so you can wrap it around your neck, but if that's your biggest gripe, then I'm glad I jumped on this deal

Thanks for the deal OP

yea i like the cord, i find they tend to reduce cord noise vs symmetrical. and yea good for one ear out..or letting both hang if you have to take them out.

These earphones are AMAZING. I've been an owner since January. At first, I wasn't impressed. They were lacking major bass. However, I discovered that it was due to the use of the wrong size of earbuds. I switched them to the large earbuds and I immediately noticed the difference. Amazing sound. The only complain is that you can hear noises when the cable is making contact with your clothes, or when the wind is blowing on your face.

I think all the isolation ear buds make noise when they make contact.
You should have it at a decent volume and you won't need to worry

you need to have a good seal for solid bass

All in ear buds that isolate sound will have the side effect of increased sensitvity of the audio cord. Its like when you where ear plugs and talk or hum or chew gum and it seams a lot louder than it would with your ears clear.

It's not even sold by Amazon, it's by Computer Brain. I strongly doubt they are authorized dealer.

Just want to update that I received mine today, so I thought I'd give my take to anyone interested.

The earbuds are sleek and small. I have no problem fitting them in my ear with the middle sized canals. They cancel out noise wonderfully, yet I agree they are more sensitive to touch after that, yet nothing worth complaining over. The bud cords are asymmetric, but the longer cord allows you to divert the main one to your left side (as per the box's picture), and is not a nuisance at all like I had thought.

Acoustically, the bass is very good, thought it lacks that "oomph" of a real sub as one should expect, and the overall sound is crisp to my hearing. I can't comment on how it sounds out of an iPod or such (Since my mp3 player is my measly v-cast phone), yet when I hooked it up to my computer through my Audigy 2zs it sounded great. For ~$17 after tax and MIR I'm pleased.

Edit: Cord diverts to the left!

even worse i doubt they sell real product.
amazon doesn't make it clear enough that they are mixing in marketplace sellers. bad as ebay.

I never got that cord noise with my Shures and they are canal earphones but I have really noticed that with the Senn CX300s. Not a big deal as I usually listen at my desk or in bed, however if you are planning to run or exercise with these, I could see it getting really annoying.
