How good is this headphone without an AMP? I'm planning to use it for my Iriver's Slimx Mp3 player.

Boy, this looks tempting. Guess I'm on a buying mood. I'm interesting in a headphone and microphone for internet gaming. Would anyone recommend this or suggest anything else? A separate microphone perhaps? Am I better off with a microphone headset? Thanks for you help. That $5 coupon states no reproductions. We taking a chance with a printed copy or does anyone know of a retail store that has out of box forms?

$223 after rebate for top of the line Sennheisers? (etronics.com)

also you can get top of the line wireless Sennheisers for 108 after rebate (RS85 also from etronics.com)

That is crazy! hot damn!

the rebate says you have to buy from an authorized Sennheiser USA dealer, but their site doesn't list online retailers.

If you are seriously considering the HD600s, Sennheiser is offering a free 5 year warranty on them, too (up from the standard 2 year). I got this warranty when I picked them up from amazon.com.

There is a link on that page to some authorized US retailers, but etronics.com isn't listed there. THowever, there's a toll-free number for Sennheiser you can call to double-check etronics.com.

I finally recieved the headphones after stupid Amazon free shipping that takes a month. I've used this both on my sony cd walkman and on my pc with SBLive 5.1 The over all sound I think is great, it sounds better then my Jensen ones that I broke, but the HDs doesn't put out much bass compared to the Jensen ones. Another thing is that these HDs are semi open ear, so it gets really loud for other people. I used a couple of days ago in the library and I was annoying other people. Just what I think...

I got my headphones yesterday (11-6). I just was wondering if I will get my rebate. If you print the rebate, and read it, it says "No reproductions (no photocopies or faxes) of this form will be accepted."

My question is: Does printing a pdf constitute a reproduction? (I can print as many as I want).

-ALSO a look over at FW forums shows the coupon has been extended to 12-31-02. SO this deal is still alive.

I like the HD570 for 84.88 shipped free. ($99.88 - $5 coupon - $10 rebate) assuming this rebate is usable.

I have both Sennheiser HD600 and Grado 80. The Senns sound good and are much much more comfortable but they cost a lot of money. Cost me around $350 a few years back.

You cant beat the Grado SR80 for the price. It is the best sounding headphones for around $80. Grado kicks major bootay without costing so much.

If i were to things all over again, I'd buy the Grado SR80 and save myself the money. If you want the best headphones for the price check the Grado sr 80, you'll be glad you did.

I got mine and, well, I'm disappointed. The sound quality is good (although not exceptional). But the manufacturing is kind of sloppy. Cheap plastic, very tight overhead band, adjustable only one way, thin cable that won't survive longer than a year or two with moderate use... Compare that to my old Denon (bought 12 years ago in Japan) which are still in good shape after 12 years of heavy use -- thin and very flexible metal band, wide margin for adjustment, thick but very flexible sound cable, and they didn't cost more than $40. The Sennheiser are going back to Amazon.

Could Amazon take any longer with my cans!

forn: Generally these headphones will sound better after they are burned in for say, 50+ hours.

Amazon is really strange. I got mine today. Took only 1 business day to arrive :Q. They must have a warehouse in CA.

Now about that rebate that says "no photocopies of this form are allowed" ...

Yeah, tell me about it! I've enjoyed the bass rumbling effects of my Z-560's for 8 months until I moved into a new apartment. I quickly found out just how loud they are, even at low settings through paper thin walls. It sucks, but like you I am in the market for some great headphones!

well yea i just got these cans today.. to be honest im somewhat dissapointed.. they are made from cheap thin plastic and the sound is kinda flat. well ill follow the advice of burning them in.. ill leave it playing for a couple a days.. maybe it will sound better.

hope it gets better if not, def not worth the 50bucks.

I just got mine and i think they blast pretty smoothly. My ipod supports them well, and I love the bass I get from them. I feel they are worth the 40 bucks (AR) I paid for them. I didn't have to burn them in or anything. They are the best headphones I have ever owned.

as with any set of headphones it looks like this is turnign out to be pretty subjective. some people hate them, some love them....

doesnt help anyone decide, does it?

I bought these from selectrebates.com for $58 2-day shipped. While I have not heard any other good headphones, these are excellent! I do not have an amp, and they sound amazing in my sony cd walkman, as well as plugged into my TV for Xbox games!
