Just checked the Sennheiser site and noticed the warranty is only 2 years. I guess I should have checked the warranty period before the thin little cracks (which I thought were just cracks in the paint) turned into rapidly growing cracks on both sides. I never imagined "premium" audio gear would only include a 2 year warranty. I never imagined it would be falling apart this quickly either! But apparently this is (was?) a common problem for Sennheiser.
I purchased these on Jan 27, 2011, so I'm now 2 months beyond the 2 year warranty period.
I'm certainly not paying $80 for $1 in plastic parts to fix $140 headphones. Is there any way to buy these parts through Sennheiser or a 3rd party?
