Sennheiser MX400 headphones

they are considered good for ear buds under 20 dollars. not all applications require canal phones, i wouldn't use canal phones while doing chores/working on the car etc.

My set just got here today. It comes just in a plastic baggie, with foam things in a seperate bag. No case. The wire on it is a bit short, but bearable for use with mp3 players. The sound is decent...bass is a bit weak, but overall a warm tone. I do notice that I have to turn the volume up on my zen v plus a couple notches higher to get the same volume as my stock phones though.

I got mine in the mail also, they look pretty much the same as my friend's retail package MX400, for 5 bucks I guess I can't ask for too much.
The sound quality are similar to the standard ipod earbuds, nothing to brag about but decent enough.

I am not certain if they are real though.

I guess it doesn't really matter if they happen to be fake. Sennhieser isn't really some luxury brand or icon so as long as they sound decent (I can't imagine "real" mx400s sounding much better, in case these are fake) since retail for mx400s isn't very much to begin with. Seems like more trouble to try to fake these than it's worth, i'd say they're real

well the regular price at frys is about 9bucks i think, so the ones packaged with players are even less, cost of making the things in china is basically nothing. probably overstock from oem or something, perhaps its being phased out as well, senn has a few new bud models out. not really worth faking.

They have the sennheiser logo and everything. The design and cord both suggest that they're real (i've seen the real mx400s).

I have genuine MX400's bought off newegg for around $15 a few months ago, and I can tell you all from much personal experience that these are ON PAR with the stock ipod headphones. The main differences are:
1) Ipod headphones have longer/more manipulatable cord
2) The MX400 dont bleed any sound, while the ipod earbuds double as speakers
3) The MX400 take a higher volume setting to achieve the same sound levels as the ipod earbuds.

Sennheiser makes a wide range of products for different price ranges, these arent anything special.

set finally came, well the cord lengths are equal. ok for 5 dollars i guess. my last cheap bangers were

IIRC, my old Sennheiser MX-something, purchased at Virgin Megastore for $12 circa the year 2000, had different-length ear cords.
