Darn sales tax and handling fee. Still cheaper than Amazon, but that handling fee is annoying. Their address is near work but that street address is new. Maybe I'll take psteng19's recommendation and get the HD-212 @ Amanzon instead.

even with the handling fee you really cant find anything better for the price. the hd212 are really terrible, in comparison. personally id pay 50$ for these things

So you really think these are better than the KOSS KSC-35's? That's what I currently have....

PX200 sounds a little muddy, PX100 is actually better to my ear: I am not a HEAVY bass man. Koss Portapro should be the one to get, it worths extra $15 -- especially for Koss's warrenty, as long as you keep your invoice.

Can anyone recommend which headphones to get if i'm only using them at home? I"ve got a pair of Sony ones and they really are uncomfortable. Closed or open is ok, altho i'm thinking the closed ones would have a better sound. I enjoy listening to dvd on my laptop and also like them for my stereo, but i'd really like to get a pair that are comfortable. thanks vroom

i have 2 pairs of KSC-35, and have had the PortaPro and PX100.

the KSC-35 i think are the most comfortable, because they are lighter, and kinda hangs off your ear rather than press pressure on them. Their sound is really balanced, but not as 'impactful' as is the PX200. Their build quality totally sucks, the cord is slightly too long for portable use, and they dont have a cord clip thingy so the left and right channel cord falls down to your belly

the PortaPro is a bit more bass heavy than the KSC-35, but it can be described as somewhat bloated. theyre a bit louder than the ksc-35 (because of the positioning on your ears, probably). they are comfortable, but not as portable to carry as the sennheier PX-xxx (they fold but not as well)

the PX100 i think was the worst of the bunch. total duds. their sound is warm and dull. just...overly warm... not exciting

the PX200 is a gem. the sound is really clear, and the bass is solid. they are very impactful and strong. they fold up neatly for sticking in your pocket, and the case really protects it well.

alot of people either love the px100 and hate the px200 or visa-versa... i tended to the px200.

open headphones are, generally, better than closed headphones because they provide a wider and more natural stage. however i find the px200 to do exceptionally well in all areas, though

You won't get a better deal, even with the handling fee...

Good timing. I just broke my old headphones this morning. if they are as good as you guys say they are I might have to snatch up a pair of the earbuds also.

I don't find these headphones muddy sounding at all, they give very good sound for the price. The only small gripe I would have is that they feel fairly flimsy and breakable, and tend to slide off my ears sometimes, but they are foldable, which is a plus.

Just a note: the PX-100's are also available at the same price from ecost. The price they list is 39.99, but this is discounted to 29.99 in your cart.

Edit: just looked on amazon, which has the same price after ecost's handling, $32.something. Probably a better choice.

Tabb, I recently bought a Sennheiser open-ear headset with a noise-cancelling mic off of eCost on one of the deals in this forum (do a search!). I think the model number is PC150. For the price ($30ish) it was a good deal and I'm happy with them. They aren't audiophile quality headphones and I don't yet know on the mic, and the build materials and comfort are mid-grade (not totally cheap, but not great). Comfort is okay, but not great - I wouldn't wear it for more than a couple of hours.

I'm hoping that the PX200 is a step up in all respects except of course for the loss of the mic. Before anyone asks, I'm using it for a slightly different purpose (I need the PX200's portability and closed design).

The price is $35.99 when I tried, not $29.99. UP $6, and you get $5 rebate. It cools me down.
