Read a lot of reviews on this one and decided to pass, despite looking for a good set of phones... punch the model number of the headphones plus "review" into Google to find a listing.

Basically most reviews said that the phones are pretty great for highs and mids, but lack bass. Now granted, these reviews were mostly done by audiophiles, so our standards may be lower, but I'd still take what they were saying seriously.

In this price range, the Sony MDR-V6 should be considered too. $69.99
Best bass ive heard from a headphone (Ive owned the 580's and 600's ). Very accurate throughout. Which is why I own them :-]

I have been looking for headphones also. I have heard much about this brand, are these the best? It seems that there are several other models with sales/rebates making them a good deal. Can I get some opinions on what are the best quality and value for an excellent pair for home use. Please comment on styles (closed or open?), and I would consider getting a set of wireless. Also, I noticed a pair of mini's for 14.95 for my MP3 player....are these better than others of this type/price? As much info as possible desired and varied opinions welcomed!! I am definitely wanting in on these prices, but I need info for an informed decision!!!!!!

I own the Sony MDR-V6 also, and it is wonderful. The bass reaches down very very far, without sacrificing highs or mids. They are the #1 recommendation among audiophiles for closed headphones under $100. Read the forums at headwize.com for reviews, etc.

I agree about the MDR-V6's I've owned three different pair of them and have tow more new pair in boxes when I burn up the ones I have. Best Sony product I've ever owned.

They work fine off a sound card or a portable cd player
