Was still in bed, listening to morning radio (back when I was still listening to morning radio). Then I heard the DJ went nuts screaming a plane crashed into one of the world trade center towers. The program was halted and transfered to the AM news station, which was reporting the news. I jumped outta my bed and made a beeline to the TV and switched to CNN. 5 minutes later, I watched in horror as the 2nd plane hit the other WTC tower.

In class. A guy came in late and said he'd heard "something about the Trade Center" on his way in but was moving too fast to catch it.

I was in high school at the time.. I remember walking to class overhearing "someone flew into the world trade center" and thinking to myself "how bad of a pilot can you be to hit such a big building?" Then when I got to my class everyone was talking about it and most of us (including myself) got on our laptops (county issued iBooks) and looked at the news reports in shock. Once we found out about the pentagon a few students went home because they had family that worked there.

Middle school at that point... 7th grade. We were sitting in homeroom when all of a sudden there was a bunch of commotion outside in the hallway. Then the principal came in and told us to turn the TV on, and it all unfolded.

Sadly, I was still sleeping. Though when I woke up I thought it was a joke or some nightmare. I couldn't believe it. I was in denile. Then when it really hit home, I felt like joing the military just to get revenge.

I was walking up to school and guys outside said someone bombed the wtc... during class someone said a plane crashed into the wtc... i took upon myself to get up walk out and go home. watche the rest on tv with my gf. she cried cuz she had reason to. her uncle worked in one of the top floors. never made it out. went through whole thing with family trying to contact him and find out stuff. Ended up not finding anything out, no body no nothing.

2 years after that my new GF happens to have her driveway redone. while talking to the truck driver he said the rubble is from the remnants of 9/11. Interesting that what i was standing on and drove over was a piece of history... interesting huh

in my high school senior english class. someone came into class and said a plane hit the wtc, but no one knew what to think. next period in physics, our teacher confirmed it, and brought in a tv so we could watch the news. that's all we did for the rest of the day.

Went to the gas station at lunch time - not to fill up my tank in a panic like everyone else in Indiana because of the rumors of $5 a gallon gas, but for the same reason I went to the gas station every Tuesday - dollar breadstick day. Noble Roman's breadsticks were pretty darn good before they went and changed the sauce on me. And for a college student you can't beat $2 for a meal cooked by anyone other than the school cafeteria.

I was sleeping and I was at college in Indiana too. Where did you go?

In my dorm room, in NJ. I woke up and was just browsing the web, saw the thread on AT, and thought it was just a small plane (like cessna or something). One of my roomates comes storming in from his class and tells me what is happening. We all turn on the TV, see the second plane hit, and both buildings come down..

freshman in hs, in civics class. our school would allow no teachers to show news footage that day and everyone was left in the dark until ~ 3 when we went home. my parents were rather pissed that we couldnt see it happening...

I was at school, some teachers knew, and a couple had told their students a little bit.

There were words floating around the school, and in my last class of the day I found out kind of what had happened.

It wasn't until I got home and hopped on the computer that I really know.

I was sitting at University lunch hall listening to AM radio about the upcoming Bears season in downtown Chicago. I remember watching the TV in one of the lounges and saw the destruction.

I remember thinking they aren't talking about sports, why?, it must have been a Sessnah plane that crashed and it was no big deal. Oh how I was wrong. I ended up going home that day on the train early.
