I was in 10th grade taking a world geography test. The teacher played it on the tv while we took it.

On my way to school. I had the radio on and, for the life of me, couldn't figure out what the hell they were talking about.

Then I got to school and the headmaster told people they were staying there or going home. Since I only lived 10 minutes away, I went home. I walked downstairs just in time to see the first tower come down, and I still didn't know what the hell was going on until they recapped.

Then, like most Americans I imagine, I just kind of sat stunned in front of the television for the rest of the day. I don't remember the rest of that week, but I remember that.

I was visiting a friend in Dumas, TX, and I was asleep on his couch when the first one hit, and my friend came in and yelled, "We're under attack, dude." He said it really dryly so I just laughed, then he turned on CNN, and we saw the second hit.

I was at work. When I heard about the first plane I thought it was an accident. I went to go watch in on TV with several other coworkers when the 2nd plane hit....then we knew something was up.

It was actually a scary day overall, but when the buildings fell and the Pentagon was hit I was mad as heck at the scumbags who did it. :|

They let us leave work early as nobody could work anymore.

Was in asleep in bed and heard my mom screaming from the other room while she was watching the morning news. When I came in I couldn't actually believe what I was seeing. I thought I was in a dream.

I was in NYC getting dressed or shaving or something while listening to talk radio. I scrapped my plans for the day, hopped on my bike and got as far south as Chelsea Piers (I live in upper Manhattan, though further up now than then). All the people walking north was an eeirie sight. The non-stop flow of emergency vehicles head south was deeply disturbing. I still shudder when I think about it. I was on a pier part of the way there when the first tower went down and standing at Chelseas Piers when the second went down. I wasn't looking at it when it happened but the sound, OMG the $%!$ing sound... I grew up in Brooklyn near the water front so I felt for the longest time like I lost a couple of dear friends, even though I don't think anybody I knew died that day. NYC was a messed-up place for a while afterward.

I was in 8th grade at the time. Around the time that the first or second plane hit, an announcement came on over the intercom that the school was in lockdown, but no other info was given. I had no idea what had happened until my mom came at around 1 in the afternoon to tell me that my dad was okay (He worked in the World Financial Center across the street from the WTC). My dad wrote something up with his view of the whole day, I'll see if I can hunt it up.

I was getting ready for work and happened to have CNN on in our bedroom. The first tower had been hit and at that point they still thought it was an accident and then watched as another plane flew into the second tower. I heard about the Pentagon as I was driving in to work. Didn't get much done that day.

at the time, i was in 9th grade, sitting in the library trying to finish up a homework assignment at the last minute before school started. Then the librarian turned on the TV... that's how I first heard about it.

I was about to graduate from the Advanced Electronics Program in Great Lakes, IL. (ET school, specifically.) We held our graduation and then locked down the base.

At my brothers. Woke up to the radio at about 8:30AM Pacific. Listened for a bit before we left, thought it was some sort've joke the rock station was doing.

When we got to work, they were watching it on the news.. Was crazy.

I remember being at work, and the whole company was gathered around a 13" TV. My boss came up yelling "Why is everyone standing around? Get back to your desks" Just then the first tower fell, and he was like "Oh..."

The guy was so absorbed playing with a new stupid website tool that he wanted to introduce that he had no idea what had happened until that point. He's like that with everything, but this was the worst example.

Getting ready for work and to drop off my 6 month old son to day care.

On the way out, wondered why the news guy was on all the time on KROQ radio in LA.

They mentioned the planes, and immediately turned to NBC.

I then saw Matt Lauer talking about the first plane, and then they showed the second one.

I stayed home after that and just stuck around with my wife and kid at home.

Very emotional once the towers came down and have thought since that day that we needed to get back at those assholes who did it.

I guess that means that i'm pro-war against terrorism (comment not meant to throw this into P&N)
