Was looking for clarification on this technology. As far as I understand, it allows a user to connect and disconnect serial ata devices while the pc is up and running. Would this also allow connection and disconnection just buy removing all power? or does there have to be a constant supply of power when the serial ata cable is removed? The reason I'm asking is because i would like to add switches on the exterior of my case to allow powering on and off of specific devices when they're not in use. Furthermore, would a serial ata adapter allow theses functions (if I wasn't completely wrong above)?
