Well, given NexFan's "performance' with delivering the Yate Loon fans they had on sale, or actually their complete lack of performance, courtesy, stock, shipping speed, and more, they could be offering these cables as free with free shipping and I'd still pass on them. Taking a month to ship three fans, after charging the credit card within minutes of the order being placed, puts them very close to being in the quick-scam artist category.
I wonder how many people are going to get "delayed" in their shipments of this newest deal from Nexfan?
Disagreed. I have yet to hear of anyone not receiving any order from nexfan nor have I ever heard of any complaints regarding their customer service. Who the heck cares if it took a month to get a fan order? I placed an order for fans 2 weeks ago and I have no problem waiting 2 more weeks for them to arrive. As far as them 'charging your credit card within minutes' being so dangerously close to a 'scam,' give me a break. A scam?! What do you think they're doing, holding on to your $10 so they can invest it in the stock market?! Charging credit cards within minutes is how ecommerce works. You place your order, you get charged, then the company proceeds with fulfilling that order. Depending on availability, staffing/company size and a host of other variables, fulfillment can take any where from a day to a month. I don't where you've been, but that's how the internet works.
If someone needed a sata cable within the week, then I'd probably recommend shopping elsewhere. But if you've got a little patience, this is a great deal. I just ordered one myself. If it takes a month, that's fine by me.
Perhaps you missed the thread I posted earlier.
Here
The reason I'm frequenting these threads is because I had my original Antec 120mm fan in my Sonata II die on me within the last week. I realized it had died because Unreal Tournament froze up on me twice because of overheating. So I was in the market for a new 120mm fan and through the opinions/reviews of the other nice people here on AT Hot Deals, I got my Yate-Loon fan within 3 days.
If I had to wait for a month and deal with overheating during that time, I would have been extremely pissed off. Therefore, whether the people at nexfan.com like it or not, it's a public service that many people perform on these deal sites to warn each other about bad customer service.
Uh... perhaps you might need to read the threads that you link to, as I contributed to that thread 4 days ago.
I think everyone is in agreement that Nexfan is slow. I'm not debating that. It's one thing to post a warning that Nexfan orders might take some time to ship. That's a public service. To refer to Nexfan as potential scam artists, though... that's completely unfounded.
Nexfan is slooooooow. Well, to be more specific, they've been like molasses recently on fan orders. That's the sum total of their shortcomings. Nothing nefarious. Nothing duplicitous. Just slow. If that bothers you, scream it from the rooftops. Just don't try to make something more of it than what it is.
Forgive me for not noticing that you posted in that thread. That said, point to me where in my post I said it was a scam.
In that thread which
believe it or not, I managed to read without memorizing everyone's names, both "icetraxx" and "radioouman" stated that they were given the same "one fan short" BS story and everyone talks about having to complain just to light a fire under them.
Now, that may not fit the technical definition of SCAM, but doesn't that show you that they're a sub-par etailer? Maybe you like to be lied to and made to sit on your hands while you wait for something you paid for, but I wouldn't and when a thread comes up about them I intend to point to their reseller ratings, which have rightfully gone down since this stunt.
It's nothing new to warn people about lousy customer service, see every TigerDirect rebate thread in the history of AT Hot Deals. The idea that it's acceptable to anyone that an etailer, without warning, take a month to ship out your part is absolutely ludicrous to me. Unless of course, that person has something to gain by the store saving face.
