I am running a AMD 64 3500+ on a Gigabyte K8NS Ultra 939.

I went to turn on the computer and my finger shocked my case. After doing so my monitor went blank so I turned off the computer. Now it won't boot, just the Fans, lights and CD rom drives will work the computer won't even boot up the memory. I have removed everything from the mobo except the Vid card and the CPU still a no go. SO I took out the CMOS Battery and booted and I was surpised but it actaully "dectected some information" I put in my ram and it now booted up and decected the ram. HOwever, it will not decect any of my IDE Devices. I don't understand this but the next strange thing is if I let it boot through and it says "BOOT DISK FAILURE" since there is no hard drive, when I then reboot I am back to the computer not booting. The only way to get it to boot again is to remove the CMOS battery for a few minutes. I don't know what to do to get this issue fixed. PLEASE assist me I don't see how a shock to the outside of my case could case such damage. Please any information you could provie would be wonderful.

Bios version above is wrong

I have tried all of the bios file available no fix for me yet.

I just think i had one of those fluke experiences where by touching my case it jacked up my entire rig, i am screwed I thinks.

Don't give up yet Start by removing the Western Digital hard drive and checking its jumper setting. WD's have four options: Master, Slave, Single Drive, and Cable Select. If it has a cable of its own, then don't use anything but Single Drive. Single Drive is when the jumper cap is off the pins completely. Try like that, if it wasn't already.

If it was set to one of the other three settings because it had been sharing a cable, then try it by itself on its own cable in the Single Drive mode.
