Serious Question For Smokers

The FIRST time you smoked a cigarette, did you enjoy it? If not what made you keep going? I'm curious because I've always heard it's very physically uncomfortable, some people even getting nauseous the first few times.

Oh yea I got nauseous everytime I smoked for a little while I remember even puking once! But I couldn't get enough of it...

coughed a bunch; got a slight head buzz/ache.. thought it was cool at the time.. smoked some more, bought my own pack... didn't enjoy them for like a month then i started to enjoy them while drinking and socializing.. then i realized they are disgusting and quit

I'm not a serious smoker but the first time I tried it wasn't uncomfortable. Made me feel light headed, a little similar to being drunk but not as incapacitated

I have been smoking for about 30 years. i do not remember what the first time was like... but it must have been ok, cause i kept going.

Like even though you got sick, you had to have more? Was it like that after the first one, or did it take a while?

i think it is easier if you are drunk, try getting drunk first

do people even get it right the first time? ive seen people who take a drag, then seconds later blow all the smoke out without even inhaling. i thought it was just me who noticed this stuff, but i talked to someone a couple months back who said she's witnessed the same thing from a friend who "supposedly" had been smoking for months.

I was 11 when I first tried cigs...I hated it. Then when I was like 13 or so I smoked cigars with some friends...I kinda liked it. Now I'll smoke a cigar here and there...but I still don't like ciggerettes.

the first time i smoked a cigarette was in my parent's car with my brother when i was 8 or so. we lit up one of the butts in the ashtray. circa 1983

now there's a Kodak moment.

The first few times I smoked I really didn't get anything from it. Started doing it socially once a weekend out at the bars or clubs. Usually I'd bum them off others but one weekend I bought my own pack and the first one I smoked I felt as if my head would float away.

ADVICE: If you've never smoked before, DON'T EVEN TRY IT ONCE! Once you get hooked it's a long and difficult road if you try to quit.

First few times I smoked I got a nice lightheaded buzz, and that was about 16 years ago I guess. Been smoking regularly for about 10 years and I still occasionally get the feeling if I haven't had a cig for a day or two.

Third..even if you quit for a few months picking up the habit again is almost too easy

Ciggs are a little rough but not that bad but the first few times I got a buzz, real lightheaded. I dont smoke Ciggs regularly though so that happens pretty much everytime I smoke one.

It was alright. Smooth flavor. Head rush. Whoa.

It wasn't until I tried cloves though that I actually enjoyed smoking.
