$18 seems pretty reasonable to me considering the quality of the game, but I would have liked to see a bonus map. "Give a man a bullet and he'll want a gun. Give a man a gun and he'll be giving away the bullets."

I'm actually glad that it's exactly the same as the old game -- it's great to see an awesome game refreshed, but otherwise left alone.

Hopefully, that side of the force will influence the weak minded people at Lucas Arts.

It isn't just textures. It is based on the Serious Engine 3 engine. New textures, physics, lighting, models, basically new everything.

18 bucks for an enhanced version of a game I LOVE is a good deal. If only they did it for TA Kingdoms, Baldurs Gate, KOTOR 1 and 2, Master of Orion 2, etc. etc. etc.

Given current trait, they very well may do that. I guess game devs are running out of ideas, and remaking good ol' games is quick solution to keep the business afloat. Which, by no means, is a bad idea. PC gaming has long enough history to make good games forgotten due to outdated technical features/properties (physics, AI, graphics). A lot of teenagers don't know about Quake 1/2, Doom 1/2, Deus Ex, Commandos, and many other good games that are "only" 10 years old or so. Give those good games a remake with new physics and graphics, sell for a low price (under $20. Which is reasonable, since they are saving money on not making the story line or developing game play), make everyone happy!

It's entirely new engine, not just a re-textured mod. This is Croteam using their new SS3 engine to pull in funds to work towards SS3, and I think it's awesome. I don't think they deserve people who previously bought Serious Sam anything either, that was over 8 years ago. I wish more developers would take the time to bring their classics to modern platforms as opposed to just releasing them for $20 running in Dosbox or unplayable except in some compatibility mode.

Just got it installed. A little warning to those that preordered, you have to restart steam to get the game to go from "not yet released" to installable on your games list. I was getting about 2.3 MB/s download speed from Steam.

The game is running fine for me and delivers on the promise on a good looking version of the original. I have read some posts on the Steam forum about some people getting random stuttering but I haven't seen any of that. I am using a 4870 512MB and engine performance is good.

Haven't played much yet but it is great fun. The enemy AI seems a little dumber than I remember although I might be remembering wrong...it has been awhile. The game was never about smart enemies just lots of them.

I've seen a lot of instances where the AI freezes or more specifically never starts moving. Very annoying. Surprisingly few co-op servers up right now. Also the frame rate was lagging severely in some instances with lots of enemies but my machine is pretty craptacular (8600GT @ 1280x1024) so that's on me. lol...MW2 plays fine but I'll be pissed if a <$20 game finally forces me to upgrade.

The game looks and performs great for me. Feels good to play ol' Serious Sam with a shiny new coat of paint. Performance on my radeon 4870 is smooth though I hear nvidia owners are having some issues.

There are a TON of cpu/gpu options and I can't make heads or tails on what some of them even are..lol. I just put it on high/ultra and didn't touch anything else and its all good.

I thought I would also mention that a demo may be comming.

When you start the game and go to choose single, coop, etc., there is a demo level option, which I played through. I haven't heard that a demo was going to be available so I am not sure why that is there. Maybe a demo will come later.

Mine is smooth as glass (4890). I haven't ran into any epic firefights yet, though - just finished the first level to see what it was like.
