If you download it, there are several unbelievably good bits to it- 48m20s onwards is truly excellent (listen to that crowd!!) as is 15m45s - the buildup is superb.

It's not often that my girlfriend is out of the place and I get to listen to this kinda thing without being disturbed

I almost forgot - the absolute best trance tune EVER is Airscape - L'Esperanza (Club Mix). It's incredibly difficult to find; took me a good day or so when I was back in University, scouring FTP sites, but it has the most energy of any trance tune I've ever heard.

Xstasia - Sweetness is also good, as is Dutch Force - Deadline, Transa - Supernova, and Hybrid - Finished Symphony.

Hybrid's Finished Symphony is possibly one of the most skillfull and perfect pieces of trance ever created - he/they fused a classical track and gentle trance together, and the end result is mind-blowingly good.

[Edit] Iio - Smooth is also great. I get the feeling I'll be here a while as I dig through my collection remembering old tracks

Ooh, Blank & Jones - Cream. One of the more influential tracks of it's time.
Lustral - Every Time. Just great.
Lucid - I Can't Help Myself (careful, this may damage your speakers at one part, or at least your ears. However, it does have an absurd amount of energy).

[Edit] York - The Awakening! Damn, can't believe I haven't heard this for ages.

Have you ever listened to Chicane before? If so, it's around six of their absolute best tracks, with the sound of the crowd mixed into the background.

If not, then it's Celtic-inspired, flowing, vocal trance

If any of you like Hybrid in any way, shape or form, then try to find Hybrid - Ministry Of Sound Sessions, but listen to the original version of Finished Symphony first

It's different for me. It takes me back to when I first started coding, because the constant beat would literally put me in a trance; I would zone out so completely that I'd have hours of concentration time. I was exposed to Chicane first through Offshore, like many people.

Delerium remains my favorite group of all time, but they're not really trance (although they've changed so much over the years they're in many genres).

Absolutely - Delerium's "Silence" (Tiesto/Airscape remix) was played for the first time in the UK in a club I was at. Some people had heard it before on bootleg vinyl, but the effect still brings a tear of happiness to my eye just thinking about it.
Basically, the club's a converted theatre in Camden, London. You're free to walk around as you please.
Anyway, as the tune was being played, the entire club was singing along; and I do mean everyone. The only other time I've been subjected to a full-on body rush* like that was when they played Faithless - Insomnia, and I swear that the whole place moved when the beat came back.

Yeah, that song has been insanely popular it seems. My personal favorite piece by them is Flatlands from their Semantic Spaces album. It's not trance, and I don't think you could really dance to it; however, if anything will zone you out, this will. Flowers Become Screens and Concensual Worlds are great as well.

I've tried to introduce some to Delerium, but they almost always say "it's too dark." I guess I can see their point, but I love it.

iv had the chicane live @ palladium for like 3 or 4 years now... i agree that its good 'back-in-the-day' trance but i dont think its the BEST set ever or anything, id leave that up to PVD or Oakey

chicane has a more laid back style thats nice melodic, i tend to like the more energetic stuff

edit: oh ya, side note, the first rock(taking back sunday) show i ever went to was at the palladium and man is that place small

and another thing, the whole classical in trance is really hard to pull off and i dont really like it to much =\... speaking of, has anybody heard the requim for a dream theme trance mix?
