i LOVE trance, but this chicane set is a SLEEPER. Very new-agey...sorry....cant feel da power or energy or whatesoever there....maybe just not my type of trance
I like melodic trance - but it needs more drive (Well..maybe its something to get used to...its like Enya trying it with trance or so and doesnt know what she wants

I agree, Delerium, esp. Silence is great..the whole album (SS) is superb.

Edit: I am also not THAT big on PvD. I had 45RPM when it came out and loved it, but the more and more i realize that he is just too minimalistic..he has SOME good tracks tho.

Edit2: Delerium is of course NOT trance

chicane has a more laid back style thats nice melodic, i tend to like the more energetic stuff

I have to say that I disagree really; Oakey had something special and lost it, and PVD did an awesome set "Live At The Gallery" but went a bit commercial after that.

edit: oh ya, side note, the first rock(taking back sunday) show i ever went to was at the palladium and man is that place small

You're right, it is really hard to pull off, but Hybrid do such an awesome job with Finished Symphony. It's serious chillout stuff, but I love it

Glad to see that there's still some trance fans among us; it's such a shame that the scene over here in the UK is dying. The older clubs are shutting down, the old names aren't visiting anymore, and all the music is going more European (read: mostly shite) or highly commercial.

I was at The Gallery in London a few years back, and I noticed how "funky" the music was becoming. None of that hands-in-the-air, mashed out of your face, lasers-going-bonkers atmosphere; just a bunch of people hanging around. A very sad sight.
