SETI@Home "classic" has ended.

On December 15, 2005, after 6 years of operation, Classic SETI@home sent out its last workunit. The current SETI@home project is up and running. Please join us! The new software uses the BOINC distributed computing platform, which enables your computer to work on other scientific endeavors like SETI@home if you wish. We could all use your CPU cycles! It's easy to switch over - just follow the instructions on the new SETI@home web site. We hope to see everyone there!

At the time of shutdown, the stats for this project will be frozen but will continue to be available on the web. It may take several weeks to clean everything up and syncronize the classic stats with the current SETI@home project.

Thanks to all original SETI@home participants for their tremendous dedication to the project. You made SETI@home into something of lasting significance.

I just noticed the last three (oops, make that four) WUs all had the same notation:

In Red, "Result was dropped"

Last upload status, "Obsolete version"

So the doors closed a couple of hours before the advertised "lights out".

Goodbye ole friend ... tonight I start my changeover which will take the better part of a week.

Got to go visit "the little people" and get them fired up again.

I just noticed the TE count went from 465,803 to 465,804 ... so they are still counting.

Yes, I just noticed mine are still counting up too.
However the WU isn't being deleted in Seti Driver - so it will hold onto and probably try to continue to submit the oldest unit.
I don't know if it will submit subsequent units if there is an old one waiting to be submitted.
Anyone know this?

Would DC be what it is today without Seti? I hardly think so. She was an innovator, a trailblazer, a pacesetter. I'll always have fond memories. I may even archive my last un-sent WU's just because

This web page no longer gets updated automatically. At the time of last update, the server was still up so that it could pass a new message to clients that SETI@home Classic has shut down and is no longer sending work.

It will try to resend those results again as well as any newly finished WUs. But you'll only be credited for the ones that weren't uploaded before.
What i've been doing is searching my SETI folder for the file 'SetiDriverTransmitLoopDetector.txt' & just delete the contents of any numbered folder that contain the text file.
