Are you losing crunchers? :Q At the current pace (650 WU/day) you should hit 300k by the end of the month.

Btw any news on how they'll kill classic? ,i.e. shut all servers off at once or kill off the WU supplie & allow the remaining results to come in?

There's not been any news on exactly how it will be handled, but both "reporposing servers in a month" and "classic"-users crunching to "last possible second" "so there will be a spike on the December 15th" indicates they'll stop accepting results 15. December.

In "classic" a user is "active" if crunched anything the last 4 weeks. Since emails will be sent less than a month before the shutdown-date, it's unlikely they'll stop wu-distribution 4 weeks before cut-off.


So, most likely they'll kill everything at once...

I'm around 17500. I think I'll be able to get to 18500 on my own by then, maybe a little better, but I'll still be well over 1000 short. I might be able to convince my roommate to run it as well, but still...

Note, Seti_Enhanced is heavily influenced by Angle-Range, there expected 15x difference between VHAR and AR 0.225. "Normal" angle-range is roughly 10x crunch-time compared to "classic"

Dang, some of my crunchers take 14 hours to do a WU in SETI Classic. I guess they won't be running SETI BOINC. I may even have to rethink running it on most of my crunchers, which do 8 hour WUs. that would be like 80 hours per unit. Yikes! :Q

Remember though everyone will be in the same boat.........mind you the mind boggles to think that my main rig will take ~ 20.5hrs to do a WU & my 2nd rig 33hrs!:Q ,last time I saw WU times that high was running v3.03 on a Pentium 233MMX @266MHz ,that was about 28hrs/WU

Depending on what solution Rosetta@home lands on to guard against cheaters, it's possible you must "soon" also wait on crediting in this project...

Hmm, a problem in the merging:

Addendum (22:45 UTC): We hit a major snag when trying to merge rows which had columns of user-defined type. We'll back out of the merge so far and turn everything on for the evening, and probably try again from the beginning tomorrow morning.

Oh, and a forum-post, answering a question:

Looks like Classic and Boinc are doing the SAME exact wus? Is this how anyone else is reading this? That any Cpu cycle spent on Classic from this point forward is really just for credit?

Thanks for the "final" update Rattledagger. I think it'll be sad to see this go. While I know I haven't been here long, I remember when this started.(a couple of degrees and universities ago and I'm still not quite done yet!)

On the bright side, for a personal goal, I think I'll be able to hit 5k by then. :beer:
