I'm just back from a two week trip and although I knew the project was ending, it was still sad to have it happen. I joined on May 18, 1999 as an individual but soon joined the TeAm, and ended with 21,501 WU's, never having much of a fleet, either. What an honor to be with a group that's so far on the edge and looking to the future and the great mystery. Thanks, guys!

I somehow feel the urge to download the reference WU again and the screensaver just to be able to show my children one day how it all started ...

Hey Guys, we can make a team just to compete against BBR in just one research and see what happens!!!
I think the try is worth it, just for fun and competition, since we are going to start from 0.

What do you think?

It ran its course and we held 5th place in the world. I am glad we can still run this even if its on a new platform. We had some great races and even better competition

I'll miss classic , but I have great memories from the project , teammates, races, and rallies lol

At the time of shutdown, the stats for this project will be frozen but will continue to be available on the web. It may take several weeks to clean everything up and synchronize the classic stats with the current SETI@home project.

It is anyone's guess if the WUs submitted after the official shutdown will count. I think anyone that crunched through the end of yesterday, December 15th, can truly say they crunched until the last day.

Personally, I have already started moving systems over to BOINC. It will take me a week or so before the migration is completed.

As always, do what you want ... we are all the same free spirits we have always been and always will be.

for every dropped result I see I get one added to my total score at Berkley - it's just another in a long line of confusing errors

Yeah I was supposed to get back from sea on Tuesday but we ended up staying out till this afternoon. As long as 1k of them count I will be happy. That will put me over 140k

SETI was my first look into DC also way back in the day. I've crunched more then a few work units myself. Was never into it hard-core like some of you but I always looked at it fondly. It was definately good. It really was the standard by which all other DC systems were judged.

Oh Well, Life, both here and out there, goes on. Onto the next DC project!! I'm off to download that BOINC Client.

Seti was my first DC also. I had both of the CPU's on our VMS box doing it in 1999. a couple of years ago, I switched over the F@H, as curing cancer seemed like a better use of cycles and electricity than searching for aliens. But I am sorry to see it go anyway.

This was by far the most excitement I have had with my computer. The MTRs, the flip-flopping with BBR, the witty reparte'. This was just a lot of fun. My hats off to all of you on the TeAm with particular thanks to Smoke, OD, Ray, OK, Asm1, Zim, Dmcowen, everyone. Just too much to list and too much to say. This is the greatest TeAm ever.

Keep on crunching for the TeAm, whatever your project!!!

SETI doesn't seem to be accepting my completed work units. Anyone have a SetiQueue I can upload to from you're having success uploading to SETI?
