Anyone getting any luck with setting minimum/maximum work buffer? SETI seems to ignore me setting 2 days on minimum.

Anyone getting any luck with setting minimum/maximum work buffer? SETI seems to ignore me setting 2 days on minimum.

They may be having trouble keeping up with the demand just now.

With default settings, I typically get a slight fall off in credit on Tuesday when they are down but a corresponding spike on Wed when they come back up. I think the default settings are probably adequate unless they were to go down for more than a day. (Which I think they did last year due to power failure.)

SETI has a limit of 100 cpu-wu's and 100 GPU-wu's at once. With a fast computer chances are you'll hitting these limits with your 2-day cache-setting and you won't fill-up the cache.

The CPU-limit is for the computer and not per cpu and chances are it's the same for GPU, so especially if you've got multiple GPU's in the same computer would expect it can be difficult getting enough work for the weekly Tuesday outage.

Just checked the WOW web site and they seem to be down. Maybe 650 people checking stats was too much........... Hope it isn't serious.

Not sure if everyone knows about Optimized Apps. I have used them for a long time and they seem to help or at least they don't hurt

I am currently only running GPU.

Two WUs at a time on GTX560 Ti 448 core.

Also two at a time on the other computers' 7950 and 6870. I'm debating whether to try three at a time on this computer but I am not sure the 6870 will handle it?

Pokey, they say it increases production.
It is hard with Seti to prove quickly as the WUs have different finish times. It might take looking at average PPD over a week or two when running one and then when running two.

They advise to run three on todays high end cards and two on mid cards.

I have been running the Lunatics Optimized Apps, and now running two WU's on the Fermi cards. It will be interesting to see the results.

Looks like I have attracted a few and they are taking between 10 - 13 hours, depending I guess on the WU and the computer itself.

I think my preferences are set to run them only if no other work is available.
