Five of our team members are among the top-100: Pokey, Lane42, petrusbroder, GLeeM and biodoc.
Many of the other teams are still recruiting members. There are 838 crunchers in the race, and 136 teams!
We are doing good. Team China is coming very slowly approx 12000 - 40000 points/day) and may pass us unless we increase our output...

I have mailed to Asto-AL (RAC 61K) and asked if he would consider to join the race.
If some or all - of you could PM or mail one or more of the other team members ... please?

Thanks for the stats Peter!

I had to remove the linux 64-bit seti v7 sse3 lunatics app on my 1090T. I was getting more than a few computation errors. The standard app is significantly slower but no errors.

the lunatics apps are working just fine on my intel processors.

Just to make it absolutely clear, to use optimized applications you MUST USE app_info.xml while app_config.xml works alongside regardless of optimized or non-optimized applications.
Err why? I haven't, seems ok so far ........

Have a ton awaiting validation. Should jump ANY MINUTE now, or 5 minutes after the event ends..
Dang! lol

Thx for the stats Petrus

I've just noticed Wiz isn't in with us! I'll PM him - done.

Well, I am now officially impressed.

I was just passed by someone with two computers..................

One of them has "[8] NVIDIA GeForce GTX TITAN Z"................

That has to a $24,000 plus rig.

The RAC for that one alone is over 175,000. :awe:

It is amazing all the computing power out there.

I don't think I'll be passing you GLeeM. One of my linux boxes ran out of AP GPU WUs and the other maybe has 24h of AP WUs left. Unless they fire up the AP splitter again, I won't be passing anyone. :hmm:

Thanks for the stats, Peter.

Err why? I haven't seems ok so far ........
Hmm, not sure which part the "why" points to, but let's see...

If you uses optimised applications, you uses app_info.xml
If you do not use app_info.xml, you do not use optimised applications.
The Lunatics-installer automatically generates the app_info.xml based on your choises and puts the file in the correct location, but of course it's possible to manually specify things if so desires.

If you wants to run more than 1 wu per GPU, you've got two choises:
1: If you're using optimised application, you can edit your app_info.xml to run multiple wu per GPU.
2: Or, regardless of optimised or not, you can make an app_config.xml to run multiple wu per GPU.

Now of course, if you don't want to run multiple wu per GPU, you don't (*) need an app_config.xml and everything will work perfectly without such a file. Optimised without app_info.xml on the other hand doesn't work very well...

(*): Even if you don't run multiple wu per GPU, app_config.xml has one extra feature, if example you wants to all the time use max 6 of 8 cores for one application and run another BOINC-application on the remaining 2 cores, you can also use app_config.xml for this.

Ah, you didn't mention that earlier , that'll be what I have then.
The 'why' was in relation to app_info, I didn't manually install/edit it.

Would it be worth it running 2 WUs a time on my old GPUs??

Interesting that I can restrict core usage to particular projects via the app_config, I've certainly wanted to do that in the past & no doubt will do again, thanks for the info RD .

Pokey
That's crazy, $24k on 1 rig! , I guess he's loaded! What's his other rig?

Hmm, I've also got an Ati-5850, but did never get it to work very well crunching. Now I've not tested the seti-v7-application under this card, but atleast with previous application if ran 2 sooner or later one of the tasks seemed to get stuck and just increasing run-time, so I wouldn't recommend it.

I've no experience with Nvidia so won't comment here.

Yes, but remember it does also has it's limitations, atleast unless the latest BOINC-clients has been improved... One limitation is, if you've got "too much" work cached for the limited project, even you've got one or more idle cpu you won't ask any other project for work.

I have had similar happen even though I was not using <max_instances>.

The CPUs were idle because when they updated they would not get WUs, it would say "project is not highest priority"? Even though it was the only project that was "Allow new tasks"?
I gave up and started another project!

This would normally indicate a buggy client, unfortunately where's been a few of these even among the "recommended" versions. Personally I can't remember if I've ever had this message or not, but I've not been keeping-up with new clients so is probably blissfully ignorant of many of the problems...

Ah ok, yea that doesn't make it a very good option afterall then .

My 5850 seems to be crunching nicely , about 4.6 faster than my CPU comparing a 100 credit WU (didn't check AR though), & that was at default clocks as I forgot to set it back to its o/c speed of 850 MHz until today! .

Due to spamming the registration page for the Wow-event was closed August 22. Some trolls have started to register people at the rate of one/minute, most of them fake accounts. This has generated quite a few problems and thus the registration page was closed. I will try to get a way in - talk to some folks I know @Seti-Germany, but I am not promising anything at all.
This is so sad ...

He also has a Xeon(R) CPU X5482 with NVIDIA Quadro FX 3700............

So I guess all you need is one big rig.....

On the other hand there is another close to me who has many, many computers and almost no video cards. There is more than one way to skin a cat........:sneaky:

Yes, I've for many years mostly crunched as Ingleside, except in Folding@home, but I do ocassionally crunch under Rattledagger also but this is for other teams.

Ah ok so you are already in , I didn't realise you mostly crunched under another name now. I'm curious, why do you do that?

Pokey
Ah ok, an older rig (especially the grx card) but no slouch either.
Odd that the other guy doesn't GPU crunch , or maybe he just doesn't GPU crunch for SETI? I'd look but SETI's down atm for its maintenance.
