I just registered. I have not run seti since the classic app many many moons ago(1999?) So is there anything I need to know about in setting things up?

...as far as bunkering, I'm only getting 100 WU's per app (ie: 100 for CPU, 100 For GPU) for each machine. About 3 days worth give or take as to the speed of the machine.

EDIT: Only about two days worth

Waffleiron head, err it's totally different, lol, best thing is to try to install it & ask us if you get stuck on something .

No no no...those are not MY tasks, lol, though I wish... Those are ALL tasks worldwide at that particular moment. (taken from server status page)

I do see how that could be misread though. Sorry.

Lmao, ah ok , thanks for the reply
I'll round it up to at least 48hrs, I've no idea how much I could bunker.... (nm, just seen OK's answer )

Btw, I'm not liking the look of this new forum so far :/........

Assuming that my tasks are an indication. The sample that I have taken that have validated, the turnaround for my tasks is anywhere between 1 hr to 1 day and 1 hour.

Well, the start of this event is always a hoot. It takes several days for things to sort out due to all the bunkering.

Credits may be hard to get at now that Green Bank signals are in the mix. We have guppi, vlar, non-vlar work and the credit awarded depends on whether it gets assigned to your cpu or your gpu. It could explain all manner of issues folks are having with production. I have no idea what to expect out of my rigs this year. I have done what I can, hoping the stars will align.....................

Good Luck, and have fun.

Well done Orange Kid, for the huge early lead!

WUSS and Bee and Mjolnir are in the fight, only one GPU amongst them.

My dump has been flushed already. Err, uhm, you know what I mean.

Pokey has passed me and you will get me sometime today. Had two or so days of crunching in the initial dump. All of my upgrade moneys this year have gone to a new laptop, two phones and a measly hard drive. Looks like it won't be till next year for some real hardware upgrades.

Do SETI v8 tasks use AVX instructions? Mjolnir was running 8-10 C hotter than normal, had to abort CPU tasks.
yes

Wow that's a big jump in temps! Might explain why my 4820k was hitting high 60s with modest room temps.
Btw, did you have a 4930k? If so what cooler did you have for it?
I've got a 4930k now but I think I'll need a new cooler (although I will try it at at least default speeds with Thermalright 120UE)

My E3-1230 v3 is hitting low 60s, its not in my house, so not my problem, instead its in a NY DataCenter so its their problem if cooling is not sufficient.

To determine what its using, go to the task stderr either locally using the client_state file or on seti site, scroll to:

avx_ChirpData_b this means AVX is used.
sse2_ChirpData_ak8 this means SSE2 is used.
neon_ChirpData this means NEON is used.(aka your mobile ARM processor)
sse3_ChirpData_ak8 this means SSE3 is used.

Mjölnir: Core i7-5820K@4.0GHz, (12 threads), 2x R9-280X, 4x4GB DDR4, Win10

The not so cool cooler is a Corsair H100i all in one liquid system.

WUSS and Bumblebee both use a Noctua NH-D14 SE2011, and they STAY at 44C and 42C respectively under load, +/- 2degrees. I've tried that cooler on Mjolnir, but the first one arrived horribly damaged, and the second arrived damaged just enough to twist the contact plate, making for poor performance. That cooler is large and heavy and soft/easily bent. But when it works, it works incredibly well.

Unfortunately right now we are having a shortage of work due to the GUPPI splitters producing no usable work

LOL, thanks Tony.

Nope, nothing new. Just trying to keep my rigs all running, and optimized. I did decide to use the Lunatics app, v0.45 beta3, and I am using Mr Kevvy’s Guppi rescheduler.
