Halloween Hot Dawg Dash MTR!

STATS PAGE: Halloween Hot Dawg Dash

Draft MTR Rules, all open for discussion and modification:

1. The MTR starts Tuesday, 9/16 2AM GMT+2, Wednesday, the 17th, following UTC time, would be the first full day of production. The weird start time is because that's when the SONI MTR stats are run.

2. The MTR ends at Halloween, Saturday, 11/01 2AM GMT+2 (last stats pull). This is open for discussion, maybe we race until Thanksgiving?

1. Run what ya brung - just a suggestion, as there is no way to enforce it, and it should be up to the individual, but I would prefer NOT to hurt the other TA projects during the MTR. What I mean is try to avoid pulling your PCs off the other projects to do the MTR. Unless of course it's a SWAP. Some of us are open to that, as in run SETI for the duration of the MTR, and I'll run your project for an equal amount of time sort of thing.

2. No sandbagging before the race. All Queues should be flushed prior to the start of the race. If you have a work Q and can't get to it by Monday, then please flush on Friday and set it not to hold WUs until the race starts. If there is a problem with this, PM me and we can work something out.

3. Assimilations, dumps, etc. are allowed during the race, the more the merrier!

4. Friendly trash talking is not only ok, it's encouraged! Just remember that we are all teammates!

5. I'm open to any and all suggestions/comments. simply write them on a piece of paper, attach to a $20.00 bill, and mail to me.

*************************************
09/14/03 11:00pm - Sorry guys, I had to reshuffle the teams.

Several people have recently either joined a team, or assimilated a lot of PCs (a good thing), throwing the original numbers off from 10 to 80 WUs PER DAY. I didn't think anyone wanted to start out with one team having a 60 to 80 WU advantage. Plus there were several others that had wanted to join in, and I added OhioDude to the race, even though he's on vacation. But, unless I've screwed up and left someone off the list, THIS SHOULD BE THE FINAL LIST.

Notice that each team's total has jumped by about 20 WUs, which means I had to balance out approximately an additional 120 WUs.

"I would prefer NOT to hurt the other TA projects during the MTR"

I think this statement is very important. SETI is the biggest project on the TeAm right now and we don't need any negative attention caused by sucking power away from the other TeAm DC projects. It only causes unnecessary friction among our TeAmmates.

So for the people who run SETI Driver do we just set the cache size to 0 on Saturday or Sunday?

Sounds fun though!

My queue flushes as WUs are received by my crunchers so I should be good to go.

So Smokeball, is The TeAm going to participate? You never said, only volunteered me for the coordinator position.

BTW, thanks for that.

PraetorianGuards, we are only concerned with WUs that have been processed are are ready to send to Berkeley uncrunched WUs are OK to queue up. We just don't want someone to dump 1000 WUs the first day of the race because they have been saving them up for a week and give their team an unfair advantage. They will then have to deal with me, my wrath, and my titanium cane.

Also, I have started putting averages in for those who I could find Here

Sorry, I don't know everyone's SETI name vs their TA name.

So be sure and review, PM me or post here with the average. I will need to know the SETI User id in order to setup the MTR stats.

Blcjr??.. ???[/b]

That would be me, aka baz or bazilla (which is how I'm known to s@h.

My daily production is 380 to 400 WU's. Now that school is back in session, it will be a challenge to maintain this. But I think you should put me down for at least 380.

Blcjr??.. 289.9

Did you mean 389.9?

Any team I was on would be quickly accused of sandbagging, as you have me down for about 100 WU's a day less than what I'm averaging!

OTOH, if the object is to guarantee that my team wins :wine: then 289.9 is fine by me.

Tarca??.. 42.6 This number reflects a large 120 unit dump from one of my queues...

I wish this was the case

My average is around 30-33 per day.

Thanks

25.1 is about right for me. I may assimilate a few more slower (PIII-800) rigs for the duration of the MTR. Put me where you like. My Seti name is compudog. I'm ready. Just tell me what I gotta do. Will flush all work machines on Friday 9/12 and home machines prior to start of the MTR!
