We like to recommend that all of our new members go to the following link:

How to run SETI and Join TeAm AnandTech

Once you have your SetiDriver setup and working properly it is recommended that you use one of the TeAm's SetiQueues.
This will insure you have WUs to crunch when the Seti Server is down.
How To configure your SetiDriver to use a TeAm SetiQueue.

Hey guys, I am a new TeAm member, and I think I might be doing something wrong. I ran the S@H all night, 10 hours worth to be exact, and I was only 20% done with a packet.

I had my screen saver turned on last night after I installed, and it was set to the S@H so that shouldnt have been the problem. I have my hard disks set to never turn off. What gives.

Here is my system P4 1.4, 256MB WIndows 98.

I did a fresh restart after I installed it and the only other program I was running was KaZaa to play some music while I slept.

Any Ideas if this is slow or normal???

Thanks

P.S. this is TeAm meber Drew54

I don't think anyone else replied. If you're using the screensaver, it IS pretty normal - it's incredibly slow. If you want to get some decent results out of your cpu, follow Smoke's instructions here to install the CLI version, which should cut your work unit times down to a few hours, as well as gaining the ability to cache WUs with SETIDriver

Yes, running the CLI client is the first step to reducing your work unit times. Are you sure that you hadn't already completed a WU and you were 20% on a new one, because even the GUI isnt that slow.

Welcome new members, I hope you enjoy your stay!

Gee, guys and gals, what a warm welcome, I feel flattered... I am new team member Baluba

see how we unfortunatelly kicked into 7th place? Damn, OcUK splitted to occupy 3rd and 4th - did they do that on purpose?

GOTTA DO SOMETHING FAST! MAKE THEM MAKE PEACE AND STICK BACK AS A SINGLE TEAM ;-)

Now hear this - from SetySpy sometimes I get I made just 10 WUs or so (since when I joined your team yesterday), sometimes all the WUs I had done since 06/15/1999, that is 331 (had done some Folding@Home in the last year or so); well, until yesterday I was logged with an old e-mail I do not have anymore, so to join your team (I heard your cry for help even from Italy, where I live) I had to do a fresh CLI install with a different username and e-mail, to get the password...

I just wanted to give all the WUs I have done so far...

ciao for now

and have a good pizza or spaghetti or lasagne or tortellini or agnolotti

Hey!! Nice to have u in the TeAm!

Fist of all .... forget about the screensaver. Use the CLI version. It's WAY faster than the ss! Grab it here along with a guide how to set it up properly. Don't be puzzled cause it's about version 3.03. There's a 3.08 but it's slower, so most of the SETI ppl here stick to 3.03!

Secondly .... I guess that maybe your PC has gone into standby mode or something like that. What is your sys spec? For example an Athlon XP +2000 on a K7T266 needs about 3.5 to 4 hours per WU.

Hope this helps u a bit!

:beer::beer: happy crunching!
