setiq - Site is temporarily down

I didn't see where anyone had posted this, so here it is!

I went to the SetiQ web site to check on my fleet and found the following message:

Site is temporarily down

Seti@home has updated the client to Rev 3 + which requires program changes to seti queue. Seti@home has requested some other changes to setiqueue to occur at the same time. During the holidays I have not had time to address the issues, and now I am on break with my family. I hope to work on Seti Queue during the early part of Jan 2001.

Aaarrgghhh.....I can only assume that it is O.K. to continue using SetiQ. I know this is due to the server change within the S@H program. Many have been emailing the author asking what to do. Well, this is some response! :| Anyone else heard about this?

JW - That post is great news. Many people were worried that SETIQ would not be updated to handle the newer clients. I would guess he is just blocking the DLing of the older client to make the update smaller.

Robor: I simply went to the site via a link on TeAm homepage (the hobbitt site) as I am at my Mother's place in FL for a few days. This is the link. I don't know when this message went up. But, it was working at 5:45 AM EST.

What bothers me is that I have systems in three location that I monitor with my individual info page from that site. Those stats let me know that each of the locs are up and running. I don't know what will happen in the morning when they try to send setiq info. I assume they will timeout. Unless he is still collecting stats.

John - Don't worry about the SETIQ stats (other than making sure they are working). If the SETIQ server isn't up to pass info to, it just times out.

If you're worried about teh Q's going, you can always point another computer at the Q (via proxy server and the IP address you use at home) and connect that way. If it connects, then it is probably working.

No problem for me.. actually, this may work out quite well. I'm planning to take the month of January off from the SETI project anyways(to help out our RC5 team), so perhaps the timing of this is really fairly good!

Well at least we know it is going to be updated ,but no stats?
I hope SETIQ 78b will work OK for the time being?
