I've been running two 250gb Seagate Barracuda 7200.11 drives in RAID 0 through a Rocket Raid 1720 PCI card.
I just noticed that there is a tiny jumper on each drive connecting an area labelled 'limit to 1.5gb/s operation'
naturally i took them off expecting a double speed increase (daft) but obviously not.
basically my question is, do i have to reformat/reconstruct an array for it to now operate at SATA 2 speeds or is it doing it already?!
and also, i thought PCI could transfer only 33mb/s - so how can this card support 2 SATA2 devices in RAID0?! i'm obviously missing something
