Settings for Asus VW266H?

Hey guys, I just picked up this monitor and I'm having a hard time getting it adjusted/used to it. I used a 20in S-IPS the last 4 years, so maybe my issues are normal. It seems like whites and bright images are to bright, and darks are to dark sometimes. I ran the Win 7 color calibrator, and it seems to have helped a little. I was playing Batman: AA, and in the settings option where you can adjust the brightness, I have to set it at 75%. Adjusting the brightness/contrast doesn't seem to do anything.

My current settings are: brightness - 60 and contrast 70. Maybe I need to adjust the RGB values too? I think quite a few ppl own this, so hopefully I'll find out one way or the other if it's normal.

There four "Mode" profiles to run the Monitor under, if you're tweaking a lot of settings you may need to make sure you're running under the "User Mode" profile or else it might reset or auto-adjust the settings.

It is a pretty bright Monitor, I have Brightness set to 20 and it's still a bit bright.
I still need to do some more tweaking, but just haven't spent a bunch more time doing so.

I'm not at home but from memory, I have the contrast around 85 and the brightness around 30-35. I like the contrast high (makes the whites pop from the blacks) but then need to turn down the brightness alot to avoid permanent retina damage

I also have the colors at something like Red 85, Green 75, Blue 65.

I looked at some test patterns and at these settings, I was able to see most all of the gradients on various contrast tests.

I like this monitor and glad I jumped in before its gone.....

After much tweaking these are the best settings in my opinion for Desktop use & Gaming. Brightness & Contrast can be adjusted depending on your preference.

1. Select Scenery Mode

2. Adjust Image settings:

*Brightness = 75
*Contrast = 75
*Sharpness = 36
*Saturation = 37
*ASCR = OFF
*OverDrive = 60

3. Adjust RGB settings:

*Skin Tone = Natural
*Color Temp = User Mode
*R = 78
*G = 72
*B = 62
