Hmm, I'm not sure if that claim is accurate. However, even if there is no Age Minimum, the Father of the Girl would have to agree to it and/or a Marriage would be necessary. So there's no legit Defence on this regardless.

Not that the Bible should be considered Law in this day and age, but that's another issue.

With drugs being illegal because it harms the person and society, the same argument applied to sex should mean sex under 18 should be illegal as well. Minors do not have the life experience to raise a child, nor the financial capability. Not do they have the experience, or mental maturity to handle the situations that arise in raising a child. They would not provide the upbringing a stable nuclear family would give. Not to mention all the harmful effects of sex, like STDs. Or putting themselves in situations that increase the likelihood of rape. Young mothers place a burden on society as they often cannot provide for themselves. The children of these mothers are likely to not have financial backing to further themselves in college.

The Bible. A beautiful inner journey to spiritual awakening also sprinkled liberally with antiquated ideas about life and living many of which are now bigoted, repugnant and disgraceful. And you can pick and choose what parts to believe in and enforce on others, and what parts to arbitrarily ignore and throw away because they might offend your delicate religious sensibilities. Not sure if silver has increased or decreased in relative value to ancient times. Sure, demand has increased, but so has supply and extraction/refining technology.

Might be better to see what the average wage in shekels was and express the price as a percentage of salary.

I know that no one can counter your unassailable logic (or ignorance...whichever you choose) but the Law Covenant was in effect up to the death of Christ, so he wasn't there to abolish it, but he fulfilled it by dying faithful to the Law -- and that's exactly what he stated in that very passage.

In other words, he fulfilled the 'contract' by completing its requirements.
