While I agree with the sentiment, who are YOU to say what is "healthy society" and what is not?

I don't agree with cheating, but if someone wants to.. more power to them. It means they aren't happy with their relationship, and it should probably end anyway. It's like drugs - you can't stop them.

I don't think it's unhealthy. If anything, pretending that everything is OK is unhealthy.

It's not like they have kids or anything.

Err.. they have 2 kids buddy.

Don't you dare try to excuse what this creep did. He has the woman of my dreams as a trophy wife and more money then he knows what to do with ON TOP OF the fact they've had 2 kids together.

If he was seriously unhappy with this situation then no 1-woman situation will most likely ever make him happy, that's on him to do what he should know is right and he didn't stop even after... 10 rounds of infidelity? If he didn't get caught he'd probably still be out there chasing tail. Ridiculous, I'm so glad the prestine media viel that was cast over this arrogant jagoff has finally been torn off and no superficial golf feat will ever replace it.

fair enough. he's a dumbass when it comes to english.

It's just a text, man, I don't think the syntax, spelling, and grammar is indicative of anything. Hell, the professional site in your sig is fraught with technical grammatical/syntax errors, but it's written in prose so I don't really see the problem there either.

Oops...

Didn't know he had kids. That certainly changes things a bit in his situation.

Regardless, who are you or I to say what is wrong or right in society?

Like I said, I don't agree with cheating and wouldn't ever do it myself, but I don't consider it "wrong" or "immoral".

Humans are programmed just like almost every other animal and insect on the planet. This whole "one partner" nonsense is programmed by society - and it works really well, eh?

There is a reason people will risk ruining their whole lives for 10 minutes of pleasure. It's hardwired like that.

Again, who are you or I to judge him?

The way you worded your post, I wouldn't bet against you cheating yourself.....so I don't believe you when you say you wouldn't ever do it yourself.

You ask who are we to judge what is right or wrong in society? As members of the society, we have every right to judge whats right and wrong, thats why we decide upon laws. What he did isn't against the law but using your terms....its 'hardwired' in us to judge. Having an opinion of someone based on their actions is what we have to go by. He knew he was wrong or he wouldn't have tried to be so sneaky about getting caught.

Lots of kids look up to him and he fucked up bad.....but people like you making excuses for his actions are what bring society down.

LOL.

So the argument is "Please, think of the children!"?

But fair enough. As a member of society, I suppose you do have the right to judge his actions as you say.

I'm not making excuses for him, I'm just saying in reality, it doesn't make him a bad person, it makes him human.

I am faithful when I'm with someone. Not because I think its wrong to cheat, or immoral, or anything like that - but because I care for and respect the other persons feelings. It would not be wrong or even "cheating" if you had an open relationship with someone.

He cheated, she should leave him and find someone that won't. It's as simple as that. I suppose in that regard, he was a "bad person" for doing that to her(and especially his children), but thats as far as it goes.

"Cheating" is like "Whore" in highschool. It has very little basis in reality; humans like to have sex. With as many people as possible. It is society that pushes monogamy. If monogamy wasn't within our societal bounds, we wouldn't think twice of it.

I view it like this - A tribe that practices human sacrifice. Babies, even. The horror! But its their ways, their beliefs. We don't have any right to judge, even though we may see it as abhorrent.

I understand this is a complicated matter though, with many facets. It's hard to make blanket statements.

Didn't he go to Stanford or something like that? He's not exactly dumb.

That being said, it's a freaking text, not a formal document. Someone with booty on the mind isn't worried about grammar police.

This.

maybe i need a chance to read through it. i didn't type it up.

when i text, i still know the difference between "freight" and "fright"... i mean, i can understand "frigjt" or something, but come on. think about how you texts... does it look anything like that?

anyways, like i said, he spent his youth playing golf, not learning how to write properly. it's like, for example, labron james... i don't expect labron james to know how to write properly. the same even goes for wayne rooney.

I'll meet you half-way here and agree that no one really has the right to apply their subjective view of how people should act/behave/etc as a whole, especially for those we don't know personally.

However, nothing stops us from aligning our views/morals against what he did and coming to the conclusion that he's wrong and/or guilty of betraying the trust of others at the very least, and consequently voicing our opinion about it. Sure we can put ourselves in his shoes, imagine we live in a world where everything is practically handed to us and hardly anybody is saying "no you can't", but without living his life that becomes a tough call knowing what we would really do. All I know is cheating once makes it easier to cheat subsequent times and the fact that he carried on time after time after time speaks for itself IMO.

Sure we have things like 'the golden rule' and laws that penalize us for doing something as simple as jaywalking, but there are no morality police and no one is going to throw you in jail for cheating on your wife. Yes Elin holds all the cards now and could probably divorce him to get a large sum of money because of what he did, that's up to her though and it's easy for us to say go for it but I'd wager she doesn't want to break up her family even with this sleezeball still around.

If you aren't happy in your relationship break it off. I'm not against divorce.

And I also believe that the sentiment that no one should judge is a bunch of hogwash. "Don't judge lest you be judged" is a horrible horrible statement that has done a lot of damage to society in my opinion. I want to be judged in order to improve myself and be accountable for my actions. And I should in turn hold other people accountable for theirs.

Who am I? I am a member of a society and it is my obligation as a member to see that I contribute to that society. I think a better question is "Who are YOU to feel that you can benefit from living in a society and yet live apart from it by not wishing to be judged or to judge?" *that wasn't probably worded very well

I honestly don't get people who say "I shouldn't judge" or "if it doesn't affect me...". That seems like the ultimate selfish philosophy.

Of course it all runs much deeper than all of this. I'm not saying if you see someone litter on the street you go out and shoot them. Or that you have to be a vigilante running around "correcting" societies ills.

It is hard for me to express everything in one post. At some point I should sit down and type out my philosophy on life. But hopefully you get the gist of what I'm saying.

But you're STILL not getting it. It's a freaking TEXT MESSAGE! This dude is trying to get some booty, so he's probably typing really fast with his thumbs on an iPhone or Blackberry. I don't know about you, but when I type really fast on my iPhone, the predictive text thing can kick in pretty fast. Sometimes its highly accurate, sometimes it isn't.

Like I could be typing and things like "thus" might get replaced with "this" or "fright" might get replaced by "freight" depending on how I misspelled it.

Only a fool would liken someone's texting skills (on a miniscule keypad no less) to not being able to write properly elsewhere.

what a fucking dirtbag lowlife.

seriously, i don't understand how elin can stomach being near him...

LOL
Give me a break with poor ole Elin. There is not one swinging d!ck in here who has not either did stuff like this, wanted to do stuff like this, or talked about doing stuff like this. He is nothing more or less than a typical dude who found someone to fulfill his fantasys with on the side. And if you think for one minute Elin ain't doing these freaky things with him, you are completely delusional. No doubt Elin's been on the practice course with Tiger more than once, lol. Once a freak, always a freak, and will be a freak with everyone.

look at how much ass this guy pulls... you think he's so excited to get some used-up crater puss that he's gonna frantically text and forget all grammar?

and i have a palm pre, so...

by the way, this is just a really dumb argument between us. let's just end it and save it for something that's worth arguing later down the road like chiropractic stuff, more than likely haha

fantasy schmantasy... this perverted bastard has issues and i don't buy for a second that he's over them. just because you fantasize about sticking it in some nasty porno chick's used up ass and then going r. kelly on her and your wife isn't really down for it (or might be, who knows) doesn't mean it's excusable to do.

Hmm. Actually, your post makes a lot of sense to me.

Perhaps I was being too black and white with my stance.

I should just say that I don't see cheating as any more immoral than the aforementioned tribe that practices human baby sacrifice.

I think I'll just leave now.. I'm going to give people the wrong impression of me, lol... I was just trying to inject some reality into the "OMG HE CHEATED!" bandwagon. I really don't care that Tiger cheated anymore than I care if the dude across the street did. I don't think it affects society in any way, shape or form. Someone cheating is a personal issue, not a societal one. Cheating would happen even in Pleasantville.

eits have you ever text messaged? Hell do you ever make typos when you type on a keyboard?

I don't agree with eits' stance regarding text messages, but FWIW.. I use proper English when I text. If I make a typo, I correct it. If predictive text picks the wrong word, I fix it.

I do tend to go "Ugh" when someone texts me shorthand, though that's usually the extent of it. I don't really think less of them. Well, maybe a little.. lol.

I agree with NSF4 though.. it's not like he's going to write an essay like that. At least, I'd hope.

yes, i make typos from time to time (more like i misspeak, really... but typos too).

yes, i text all the time. i actually carry over my typing rules over to text, since i have a qwerty keyboard. it takes no time to type a message accurately so the person receiving it can understand you.

Cheating doesn't make someone a lowlife. Being wild sexually doesn't make a person a lowlife either. These are adults. His behavior is not the kind of example to put before the children he idolize him. Cheating on his wife and carrying on like this is just pathetic. But he didn't rape anyone. Molests somebodys child. He hasn't stole from anyone. Sell drugs or physically hurt anyone. Those are examples of lowlifes. He emotionally hurt his family. Tiger has not done anything where he doesn't deserve a chance to clean up his act. This may be that one thing that gets him on track and keeps him on track. What angers me is the pigs who become all holy and condemn a person without any chance to make it right. Truthfully I don't know what's sadder, him or the people who have judged him.
