I am looking for a cheap netbook or maybe SFF (Intel NUC, Gigabyte BRIX) where there is good OpenGL Linux (Ubuntu?) support "out of the box". In other words, I don't want to spend a lot of time trying to figure out how to get OpenGL working.
I can look on Amazon, for example, and see a lot of Netbooks / small laptops, but works well with OpenGL + Linux?
FYI...this is intended to be a machine where I can try out simple proof-of-concept stuff when I am away from my desktop/workstation for an extended period, such as for business travel. It doesn't need to be fast--only small.
I have an Atom N450-based Netbook, and if I build a small OpenGL project, I end up with an empty window. The project works on my desktop, and glxgears works on the Netbook. I don't feel like chasing down where things are breaking.
Thanks!
