Hi all,

I am working on a new build with an SG03 and have a question about the connectors for the power switch and reset switch. Instead of having "+" and "-", like my motherboard, the leads are noted with "G" and "s". I want to say that "G" is the negative and is a ground? If anyone could set me straightt I'd appreciate it.

I'm GUESSING it's source (+) and ground (-). Hopefully someone knows for sure.

Why can't they just do + and -? I'm even sick of the triangles on most of the connectors.

If the case maker uses standard color coding for the wiring, then the ground wires will be a single color (black or white) for all connectors and the Pos. lead will be a different color for each (green, red, orange, blue, etc.). On the switches, generally, it makes no difference. Now some old cases had a little circuit board with an IC (perhaps just a resistor pack that looks like an IC) on it that was used to "draw" the hot lead to ground, so there the polarity might be important, but I've not seen one like that in ages - the wires just come right off the switch, so there is no real polarity.

But with copper being so expensive, some case companies have bought up old stock of whatever colors (various stripings, etc.) that were left over. Therefore, any type of standard color coding is out the window (though on the pairs I've seen, the darker color was ground while the brighter was Pos.). I've even seen a few bottom-feeder brands of PSU with a rainbow of wire colors...

The simple answer is that the switches have no polarity so it doesn't matter how the connector goes onto the pins as long as its on the right pins.
