SG1 Canceled: News of its Continuation?

I've seen a bunch of articles/posts regarding the continuation, mostly at Gateworld.com, and SaveStargateSG1.com, but I was wondering if anyone else had more 'official' information.

I really don't want to see this series die, and judging from the following quote by Michael Shanks (plays Daniel Jackson), it seems that there is still much hope, but the wait is driving me nuts.

We just don't know whats going to come next, and the feeling of anticipation in my stomach is getting old. I'm a devoted fan, and I do have a life beyond Stargate (a beautiful GF, and a my religous devotion), but this show has been a part of my life for almost ten years now, and is one of the only good SciFi shows left on TV.

A network change wouldn't be new for SG1, but the rights of ownership could get messy wth SG Atlantis airing on SciFi and SG1 airing on another network. It'd also make guest starring between the two shows very difficult.

Rights of ownership wouldn't be an issue, MGM owns both shows, Sci Fi just pay them to make new episodes I think.
Guest star wise, could be difficult, especially if timings for showing eps on TV differ a lot, but the cast should all be in the same place, and if they are contracted by MGM then it should be possible to have them appear, although storyline wise it might be complicated.

If the writers are out of ideas; get new writers. The show's concept/premise offers unlimited sci-fi opportunities.

Well, Atlantis isn't cancelled, so there is still Stargate. And I think another movie could be possible. The other movie is what started the whole thing, its not like they've done one recently.

I love SG-1 and Atlantis. I'd like to see them both stay, however, it might be time to let go of SG-1. They can just concentrate all efforts into Atlantis.

they already confirmed it's not going to get picked up by any network, sg-1 as we know it on tv is no more....they said another medium. my guess is 3 part movie. ori are awesome and should be good movies.

The WikiPedia entry is actually very good for SG1, I haven't looked at the entry for Atlantis, but its probobly equally as well organized and informative.
