Shader Model 6 preview exposes Ordered Append

This is I think the first gfx API to expose this functionality and likewise consoles already have it exposed and there exists native hardware support for it in the GCN architecture according to the ISA documents ...

At last, they need One Year to do the Job.
Now we have quasi like new API:
DX9.b SM 2.0
DX9.3 SM 3.0
DX10 SM 4.0
DX10.1 SM 4.1
DX11 SM 5.0
DX11.1 SM 5.1
DX12 SM 6.0 (now still 5.1 from DX11.1)

Yes but if you read carefully that is DX12 Feature lev. 11.1 ;-)
Now we have ~34 Games that using Mantle/DX12 & 2 using Vulcan
