Shame On Evga

Here is my story : This explains how I got ripped off by evga!!
I bought a mobo from ebay , it came in perfectly . Then I used it for couple of months , then mobo started to random reboot and freeze. So I searched all over internet to find a solution but didnt. So I started an RMA with evga , it took 4 days to get the aproval from Taiwan RMA dept, so I printed the rma invoice and before packing the board I took couple of pictures of cpu socket and the board along with its serial numbers.
Then I shipped it , after a week time the tracking showed as delivered but they said they didnt get the board so I waited another 4 days then they said they got the board and they want to test it , so gave another two days . Then all of sudden I get a mail after two days saying that one pin on cpu socket is missing ( I was like WT ) they sent me the picture of the socket showing the missing pin , but I said them I'm 100% sure I sent in the board without any damages to cpu socket , they didnt trust me then I sent them the picture , after 3 days I get a reply saying that I have damaged it ,this is so stupid because I know for sure I didnt damage it also my pictures proves that I'm talking the truth. They were silent for 3 days not reply . They do have a contact number but no one answers the phone. This is the WORST RMA EXPERIANCE THAT ONE WOULD GET !
I dont care about the money , what I care is they ripped me off.
My friend had a similar experiance with evga but it was for a vga though.
I have been with evga for 6 years and this is what I get in return "a big thanks to evga".
I'm moving to gigabye no one offers warranty like them.

But the best warranty I have seen is from gigabyte , they sent in new cpu , mobo , ram ,psu for the damage that was caused due to failed evga psu. They were assuming the problem was from gigabyte motherboard.
SHAME ON EVGA!!!

Pictures that I took before shipment:

I would go to a local arbitration service first before considering court. Clearly EVGA has damaged the motherboard and is trying to blame you for it and avoiding RMA, but in many countries now there are pre court services that protect your rights on the products and can recommend strongly that the companies refund you or provide a working replacement. There rulings are also compelling if you do need to go to court and they will do a lot to prepare the case for you. So try there first.

PS You wont get a company shut down from selling in your country for this. A single customer breach of the law just doesn't justify it.

This isn't just an EVGA thing either. There are tons of stories like this for every motherboard manufacturer and seller of motherboards regarding bent pins that suddenly appear at inspection time.

I'l check if there is a service like that in my country , I have never heard of that before il do a deep search. Yea its them who damaged the cpu socket and blaming the customer . Yea I have to get more details about evga to file a case , I dont know if that is possible but I'l give my best to stop it in my country.

Yea I have heard some manufactures does it to avoid warranty , but its funny to see evga did it at last. Thank god I got the pictures to speak for me.

I live in Sri-Lanka , so evga wanted me to do rma with Taiwan dept.

EVGA used to have the best RMA service but they have slipped. Now the best is Gigabyte.
Yea they have gone down now . Gigabyte is the best . I would suggest anyone to get it , because they even do the rma if you have damaged the part by accident also you dont have to pay for anything see how good they are.

well i would say contact their USA department and explain the situation they are way more understanding...i used to have the same problem with Asus cuz their middle east department wouldn't understand the problem(a laptop in that case) i had to talk to their USA department and they helped me out way better...

also check around the Newegg for Gigabyte mother boards lots of them have RMA problems or the board having bios problems according to those who bought them...

This is not a EVGA issue, what Intel did was transfer the cpu pin problem to the motherboard makers.

EVGA and MSI use a lot of gutter grade components. I laugh at Msi's chokes. On all their boards. I haven't seen a single EVGA/MSi board worth the asking price.

They screwed me on the P55 pin burn, after spending my hard earned money on their junk ass products. I told JOE I'll never buy there product again, not even off E bay.
In the same breath, all companies drop the ball at some time. Asus and there mother boards are the best for a reason. I had a dead Rampage IV extreme, they sent me one back(it had issue's). I looked the board over good, and the corner got crunched in shipping. They paid return shipping, sent me a complete and new board(though the process took sometime, in the end they did right by me). So no matter what, I spend my money where they take care of the customer.......
Gigabyte RMA is good, they will even fix CPU pins. I have seen them replace the CPU socket.

To be honest, it does seem like that pin is already missing in the first picture that you posted (indent on the bottom).

I noticed that the pin in question does look a bit different than the surrounding pins on the initial images.

Different, maybe, but I don't know about missing.

Picture they sent me:

I noticed the orientation of your pictures isn't consistent, coupled with EVGA's picture being cropped to such a small area, there's a decent chance of disorientation. Hopefully this help clears up any confusion or doubts on the matter.

Best of luck with your troubles. I hope everything works out in the end.

Thanks to fellow members who posted helpful info here.
I'l take the dark for 150$ from evga. I have had enough of this problem. I want to finish it now and here.
I do apologize for all evga staff if I did behave like a prick . Anything I said bad are taken back .
Thanks to all!!!
***Note: I will never send my board to Taiwan rma (thats a ever) , I will pay the costs to ship it to US directly . Cant have a experience like this again.

Update :: Now evga doesn't want to offer the replacement even though I agreed to pay 150$ , because I have not edited my forum posts , is there any link between the forum and company lol ,this is the worst thing you could hear it from a company

What in the world has to do with forum posts and warranty ?
Now evga backed out from the word they gave me .
Also beware of them , they are now posting private info .
THis shows the true colors of evga

Note to self: don't drop a motherboard and break the PCB (and void the warranty) then complain that I'm only getting a discounted part from the manufacturer through the RMA process.
