Shaolin Soccer

this is quite honestly the best movie I've seen in a while, just based on being a joy to watch. I'm catching it on Spike TV, and the dubs seem like the guys from MXC did them. Anyone a fan? I've heard the dirty subtitled version is better, but the hilariously bad dubbing is fun to watch as well.

It is a good movie. I like the old lady who is always smoking. Kind of a olf Cliche that the meekest and least likely characters are the one who are most important/powerful ... love it.

You're talking about Kung Fu Hustle, not Shaolin Soccer.

You're talking about Kung Fu Hustle, not Shaolin Soccer.

i like kung fu hustle a lot more than shaolin soccer. It's got style and it's funny!

I saw a poorly sub-ed version that was much more entertaining, no idea if it's the one OP is talking about. The dubbed version is good but not spectacular.

i like kung fu hustle a lot more than shaolin soccer. It's got style and it's funny!

Ditto. Shaolin Soccer seemed over the top, but not in a good way. Kung Fu Hustle was a really great movie though.

I liked kung fu hustle much better too because i watched shaolin soccer long time ago without any sub or dub. I downloaded it when it just released from Hong Kong.
Time to check it out on netflix, i guess.

Thought it was corny, just like the sport portrayed in it. Still wasn't as dumb as Kung Fu Hustle though.

I love both of them but love Kung Fu Hustle more. I tend to dislike people who don't like KFH - that movie is awesome.

Loved Shaolin Soccer, but I preferred Kung Fu Hustle. Steven Chow wrote and directed both films, but you can tell that Shaolin Soccer was his first and less polished work.

I liked both movies.

I saw another movie by the guy who did those 2 movies. It was about a guy who wanted to be an actor. pretty weird and somewhat funny.

You should watch God of Cookery. That was an other Stephen Chow movie that came out before both Kung Fu Hustle and Shaolin Soccer. Of course there are more than that, but those three are probably the most prominent here in America.

I liked Shaolin Soccer better than Kung Fu Hustle. God of Cookery was really good too. I like Stephen Chow, I need to check out more of his stuff.
