Yeah, I know. But "monk" just doesn't sound as fearsome as "ninja."

Just as a point of controversy:

The true Shaolin temples were all destroyed in the political uprisings in the 1920s. With the fall of Imperialism and the rise of Communism, temples as a source of religion were deemed inappropriate. The monks that lived fled to countries like the U.S. Fast forward 75 years or so and the Chinese government, opening it's doors more and more to tourism, sees an advantage in having Shaolin temples for people to visit. People, "monks", begin practicing and teaching martial arts. The controversy though is that many practitioners of Shaolin styles of Kung Fu claim that what is being taught there is not a Shaolin style.

So in essence, it appears that the Chinese government opened Shaolin Temple theme parks and, like Disney, is now trying to protect that investment.

I don't know who exactly... or how... but that didn't stop my mind from wandering to TRUE ULTIMATE POWER (in this case monks, not ninjas)!
