Shaq for Marion trade revisited

Looks like the Suns are ramping up into battle mode for the playoffs. The game last night against the nuggets was a testament to how different the suns are now with shaq on the team.

They out-rebounded the nuggets 26 - 6 in the second half. That would NEVER, and i repeat, NEVER happen if marion was on the team.

Amare has moved back into his natural position and is thriving. Hes averaging over 30 Points per game now that shaq is on the team.

The suns have MORE fast break points now with shaq on the team

The suns are outrebounding their opponents in most games, which NEVER happened before we had shaq.

The suns are a game out of first place in the crazy western conference.

SO now what do you all think about the Shaq for Marion trade that so many people knocked originally.

On a side note: This has been the most entertaining NBA season in such a long time. I think this year was exactly what the NBA needed to make people forget about the fight in detroit not so long ago

Long term Marion is a better investment, but other than to hear he was sitting out in Miami, I have barely even heard his name mentioned. Goes to show you'd better know what you're asking for!

Ummmm, statistics dont back you up.

I believe the suns were -5 rebounds before Shaq came.

I think they are around +2 now that Shaq is on the team.


Marion is one of my favorite players, but he got a lot of the cupcake rebounds. Hardly any of them were from him fighting for the ball.

i agree completely with the last statement. have felt that about this season all season long. watching the celtics play particularly has left me feeling very good about this season. my hawks might even make the playoffs this season.

Shaq looks totally rejuvenated. I think the suns training staff is putting hgh in his gatorade.

Shaq opens things up for amare to score more and rebound more, and amare is going crazy. Their fast paced style is actually getting shaq in shape, which seems to be the biggest surprise of all - that he hasn't broken down and is healthier.

The trade that needs to be revisited is Kidd for Harris and Diop, lol.

another interesting note in the whole shaq and miami saga. riley took all the heat (no pun intended) for van gundy's dismissal, but apparently it's shaq that didn't like stan, not pat.

I can tell both of you dont watch basketball outside nor do you have any knowledge of the sport. It would be a travesty if Isaih Thomas didnt get coach of the year. That's not exactly a dig this year in the west. What a friggin machine - it looked like it wasn't going to be so strong with Shaq leaving to miami and KG leaving to boston, and duncan aging, yet its stronger than ever.
