Here is a fixed link Fixed Link looks pretty decent.. of course u would proabably want a good stereo system for anything big time but looks pretty decent 2 me. Not the flatest of tv's but certainly not very rounded.

So, is this a FLAT tube?

Fry's has a deal for 399 for a RCA 32"... I personally have not looked at this. But, one thing that caught my eye was the scan lines are pretty ... In the area of 700 (I Think)... Last time I looked at RCA tubes they were hardly FLAT. I think RCA sucks if you want a FLAT tube. Sharp might come in second on this flat catagory.

Consumer Reports stated in this month's issue that the RCA models suck as far as reliability - over twice the repair rate of any other vendor (over 10%). This Sharp is actually one of their recommendations for a bargain 32 inch (their posted street price is $470). They also state that the sound quality is poor (everything else is good (i.e. average) or very good):

Please, explain why. I've never owned a PIP TV. Never thought it was a big deal, anyway.

PIP is virtually worthless. I have a Sony 32" that requires a VCR as a second tuner, I rarely use it.
I do like the freeze frame feature, but I rarely use that too. Seems like a pretty good price for a
32" tv. I highly doubt it's a flat screen. I guess I'm not a "valued customer," cuz I didn't get the
mailer.

Single tuner PIP means you need to have another device in order to function the PIP on TV. Another device means, VCR, or camcorder, for example. Two tuner PIP means without a second device your TV can still run the PIP like watching 2 different channels at the same time.

I grabbed a Sanyo 32" at BB B&M....saw an open box for $319.....hit the brakes hard! Came with $30 in Rebates....Wow!! Open wallet fast.

Not the best....don't think any are that bad...pic looked good on display, fit in the Windstar another plus.
Should last until all our TV's in the US finally go to HDTV and the prices come down. Only thing I dread is this is going up on my loft where my 27 now sits.....27 was a bitch getting up there. 32 should be a bear. Guess I should buy an extra case of brewskies this week and call some buddies over just before game time. Point to beer and big box on floor and empty loft...hehehehhehehe!

Sharp TV's are built very well, and the company stands behind what they sell 110%.
Rca/Ge/Proscan are pure garbage. We fix more of them than all other sets combined!
Next in the garbage pile is Zenith. Forget about all the no name sets.
Other set's that fail often, but are usually recommended are Toshiba and Sanyo.
Sanyo's barely sqeek by from getting in the Garbage pile. Tuner problems that are $$.
Toshiba's are known for vertical and regulator troubles, but not expensive to repair.
Phillips/Magy used to be on the buy list, but have fallen off to near rock bottom. Avoid!

By far the #1 set that we tech's recommend for low price, and great quality is:

You can pay through MSN Passport when buying from Best Buy online, but Best Buy does not participate in the MSN 20% Reward Program. I think this is clear enough.

Fry's here in Dallas had an ad for an RCA 52" HDTV ready (Model D52120) for $1499.

It's $500 cheaper than any other local retailer. I decided not to get it after hearing not so good things about RCA though.

Just a heads up...If anyone is thinking of buying a TV w/ single-tuner PIP, DON'T be mistaken into thinking a "camcorder" can provide the channel source !!! It MUST be a VCR, Cable Box, PC Card w/built-on tuner, ETC.

Also, if you have DirecTV Satellite, it won't work with the PIP unless you hook up a second receiver and pay the monthly fee for it.
