There's no VCR display for anything: channel, tape counter, etc. This info is routed to the TV, which many people would find inconvenient.

Yeah, I got one of these a year ago from mercata for about the same price, shipped...it's ok for the price, considering it's a 4 head hifi, but the fact that it has to damn lcd counter or anything is annoying. Don't ask why, it just is

yeah, I have one, and it's really a POS. Like was pointed out last post, it's inconvenient that the vcr displays nothing on the unit. heh, even the farking on off light on the vcr confuses me, its either red or green, and I never remember which is which.

The output quality isn't bad, I have to say that, but that lcd display thing is annoying...also, it can only tape in EP or SP (6hr mode or 2hr mode...no 4hr mode). I would've rather taped my anime dvd's in the 4hr mode, but since I can't i'm stuck using the 2hr mode.

Madcowz: This is not DOTD. Do a search as in my first post and you'll find the VCR. It's actually not bad consider it's so cheap. Lot's of similar VCRs are priced much higher than this one. And yes if you are gonna to get a much expensive one you will have better functionality, but better worth the $$ (yeah yeah I am a cheap stuff hunting as$)

Actually, I'm surprised by that comment. In the last five years the industry has begun to phase out LP (4 hour) recording capabilites. They will still play 4 hours .. just not record. I myself have been looking around Baltimore for a replacemnet for my old one. And the only LP vcr's here are the pro vcr's ... nearly $1300, but they have all these other features. My advice .. if you have an LP recordable VCR ... keep it in good condtion.

EDIT----> i just got mine and it seems pretty sweet for the money!! comes with remote AND batteries AND it even came with a cable too!! you cant beat this deal with a stick!
