Hey guys, I'm sort of being screwed over.

I can't find any sites that offer shipping to canada. Did you know that if I buy the palm TX in canada, it's $100 more than from the US?

Same goes for the samsung 940b, AND the gigabyte 7600gt silent.

I don't want to pay over $300 extra just because I live 40 minutes past the wrong side of the border.

Are there any major sites that offer shipping to Canada?

thx in advanced

First I'll assume that you factored in exchange rates. Now, just remember that it may be $100 more here, but you will be paying likely $50 just for shipping and about around +20% customs(likely more). Factor in the convenience of returns and dealing with the store, you "pay" less. But if you really must have it shippied, check out www.ncix.com.

Well you don't have to pay customs if the parcel has written that it is a birthday gift. Just tell the company it is a birthday gift...most have no problem writing that on the package

Shipping over boarders and customs will kill nearly any deal you come across. Look for a good store in your own counrty. Ncix has a good reputation, see if they have what you want.

Yeah, I've got everything I need priced now. It took me forever to find suppliers in Canada. It's still much more expensive than newegg. Oh well.

I'm not sure how customs works. I know there's no duty shipping between Cananda and the US. It's guarenteed in NAFTA. However... I heard there were customs brokerage charges? I've never tried that, although my brother got nailed with them before. I'm not sure why though.

No Duites but you do get a Handling charge AND Taxes on value of shipment for your province.

You have to pay GST and possibly a customs brokerage charge, but this depends on the shipper -- some will include that in the shipping charge. Otherwise, there might be an addition delay as well. So you need to cover shipping charges + currency cost + time delay. Often, local sources come out ahead, but sometimes, and especially for larger orders, US sources are better. For smaller purchases of common items, despite PST, browsing the local computer street and paying cash often works better. Pricenetwork lists some such sources, but it's far from ideal in coverage.

Here are some local sources:
