Where do you find the Archos Jukeboxes? Are they kept under glass with the minidisc players? Or are they kept with the portable CD players, walkmans, etc? Been to two Targets and haven't seen them so they're probably gone. But I thought maybe I wasn't looking in the right place to begin with.

Didn't see any of these last night, but Fishers, IN had a couple of Rio MP3 players (64 MB, expandable to 192 MB) for about $65 (marked down from $99 clearance, don't know original price)...

I picked up two of them a couple days ago from one in Plano, TX. Both appear to be faulty though. Looks like bad HDD units. Just clicks and whirs, then gives a "file sys error" Pulled the drives and put them in my laptop, can't even fdisk them. The 2gb laptop drive I had laying around worked fine though, so it was not the unit itself.

The two I found were actually under the locked glass case. I only saw them because an employee pulled them out while looking for a MD player in the same section.

target will not take anything back if you dont have a receipt to prevent ppl from buying it at clearance price and return it for store credit.

I would also like one! I didn't see any in the Roseville, MN Target, I might go back tomorrow or sat to check again.

Nope... last deal that I got from Target was back in Jan... $90 dartboard for $22.75 on clearance.... I really wanted one of those mp3 players

Yeah, I saw the Rockbox development. Looked real promising. Unfortunately, you at least need access to the HDD to get it to work. Both drives in these units were faulty. Even after completely removing them and placing them in a laptop, they would not work. FDISK, Ontrack, MAxtor utilities, all reported severe, fatal and unrecoverable errors. Even tried Partition Magic, no luck there. Judging by the firmware that did pop up, the two I had were some of the earlier units, and I recall seeing some posts on some support groups on faulty drives and power connections. They did work with a spare 2gb drive I had laying around, but by that time I wasn't really interested in messing around with them any further. I really didn't need them anyway, I am much happier with my Sony N707 MD player.
