have you not read anywhere in this thread... if you had, you would know its impossible to compare a judge a genre spoof to a serious movie.
i'll say this: the action sequences were stupid, because they were pointing to the predictable, comical, and unrealisticness of seeing very similar sequences in many famous, serious action movies. Shoot 'Em Up is mostly referential humor to action flicks that took themselves seriously, where as this movie knows its being over the top and enjoys doing so.
Like I said before, it's all obvious in the title of the damned movie. Shoot 'Em Up? That's a generic name for any shooter movie. It should be understandable and almost predictable what one is about to see in a movie called Shoot 'Em Up: lots of guns, actions, possibly crazy chase scenes (vehicle or on foot), a plot that likely doesn't matter in the end.. and lots of crazy conclusions to scenes that probably shouldn't have ended in the way they did if following reality.
