No, they don't have the right.
However, for all the 1st Amendment scholars that appear to be in this thread, how about the unanimous Supreme Court decision on Chaplinsky vs. New Hampshire? No one has the right to not be offended. But not all offensive language is protected by the First Amendment.

Well of course. The first amendment cannot be used to incite to riot or when it might cause a general scare (yelling "fire" in a theater, for instance.) The social contract requires that we curtail some of our inherent freedoms for the sake of a workable society. I have no problem with that.

What I do have a problem with are the apologists who either want the gunman protected or justified based on the fact that he was offended (whether the offense was on purpose or accidental is irrelevant.)

I don't give a shit what your political affiliation is, if you believe that murder is justified when the murderer is offended by something the victim did, you have no place in a modern society.

lmao. Menstrual show. Maybe that will replace the teen pregnancy programs. All the girls line up and show it off to make sure they arent preggo every month.

Chastity Art. Every month there's a new canvas with a spot for each girl to smudge on. When someone can't smudge, they lose a point.

It might also be offensive to Jews since it was the Old Testament. There was lots of nasty shit done in the name of God and by God in the Old Testament. What might be even more offensive and have Christians unite and start riots is if someone were to put a crucifix in a jar of piss all in the name of art. I could imagine all of the outrage and rioting that would ensue.

Good One! Like THAT would EVER Happen...gentle nudge...wink wink!

Oh! The humanity! Bodies in the streets!........Except other than indignation, nobody was injured in that exibit..or any other.....and many years later, an print of that work was defaced beyond repair! Take that!!! you rabble!!! Imagine if a statuette of "you-know-who" was immersed in piss what would happen. I'd imagine free slushies and cookies and a "talking to" would ensue. Right then.....!

There was a statue of the prophet Muhammed near Madison Square park. He was one of many so-called "law-givers" that were represented. It was in good company. Moses, Confucius, Buddha, etc... But once muslims got wind of repairs to the statues they pounced. It was promptly removed.

Who said I'm scared of them? Why not instead ask someone they are about to behead for being a disbelieving heathen how scared they are of them? because that makes a hell of a lot more sense, then, mate.

You did as all you seem to be thinking about is head chopping, heathens, etc. You spout the words of fear. That's *your* problem, not mine. I simply am not afraid of either Islam or Muslims.

But if you want to mince words and instead debate about what I really dislike, it's any hatefully intolerant person who checks their brains at the door, in favor of blind faith in an imaginary religion (or political ideology) which is used as an excuse to kill or oppress other people who disagree with them. And that could include literally any religion or politics misused in that manner.

And both religion and politics seem to attract an unusually large amount of idiots who are looking for some kind of guidance, however wrong it may be, because they litterally can't manage their own affairs without pretend divine intervention or a politicians lying pandering to sustain them. That's what's really scary.

Try looking in a mirror as that's pretty much what you're doing with Islam and Muslims. You may not have killed anyone but you're sure blindly pusing the hate angle.

Too bad, so sad.

There is no doubt that SlickSnake hasn't had any real interactions with Muslims who do not agree with extremist.

I know, they should be more vocal and outspoken. Knowing that these extremist will kill people because they follow a different sect (Sunni or Shiite), I would keep my mouth shut too.

How much more vocal and outspoken do you want Muslims to be? You can read almost daily denunciations by Muslims, both as individuals and as larger goups/organizations, of Islamic terrorism and extremism. The world, for the most part, seems to simply ignore them. Or, actively tries to denigrate their efforts.

No. By that logic, you could say Nazi's were not Jew-killers, because the vast vast majority of Nazis did not personally operate at concentration camps.

Although the vast vast majority of muslims are not personally committing acts of violence, the vast vast majority of muslims either actively support or at least tacitly approve of such violence.

Bovine excrement. (and an amazingly poor grasp of what constitutes a logical argument)

I think is a fairly accurate assessment. The event was deliberately designed to provoke a reaction. This event was basically equivalent to the KKK holding a contest for who could do the best menstrual show in black face. A violent reaction though is completely unacceptable.

So I comedown on the side of condemning the gunmen and don't lose sleep over them being shot dead. I also condemn the group that organized this event in the first place.

Just as long you admit "convert or die" is a practise of nearly all Arabic/Mid East region religions.

It's not. It's the practice of a tiny minority of folks in the Middle East.

btw, the Middle East only has around 20% of all Muslims.

Good contribution to the thread.

There is, however, a BIG difference in a simple, reverant statue, versus a religious representation immersed in piss. Still, the outcome of the statue dispute is what one should expect from a civilized group. No heads were removed and nobody stormed the courthouse with guns.

You were proven wrong about Muslims in the past yet you continue to deny the reality that millions of them are radical nut jobs. My what a fine fairy tail of a world you created for yourself.

Aww, isn't this special. So you are turning this into a teaching moment, just for little old me? You are just like all the other politically correct, pompous, blowhard trolls that hangout here and hypocritically denigrate posters for their opposing viewpoints just because you feel you know more than they do. Well, right back at you, you self rightous, pontificating jackass. You want to play the devil's advocate here, every single time, then you better enjoy the devil's company.

You are nothing but a small, stupid fish here in a putrid, muddy pond full of usually pissed off catfish who are hungry for blood. And any blood will do.

You can make all the stupid comparisons and excuses you want to while denigrating posters, but that won't rewrite the POS called the Koran, or the Bible, or fix anything that is wrong with this planet. Because YOU are the problem HERE, mate, and all the other too good to admit to crapping posters like yourself, Welshblowhard, Tex-asshiker, toasterlover, and the rest of the politically correct add nauseum provocateurs.

And all your psychobabble and histeronics aimed towards me or anyone else that posts here you disagree with won't fix a single thing. And you seem to feel the need to take the opposing side in every debate, every single time, and then you manage to twist and demean every debate from the primary problem which usually never has anything to do with the posters you attack.

And you lifted a portion of a quote and took it out of context to make your point, just like most of the other vocal mouth breathers are loathe to do which I find intellectually stupifying. Your politically correct retardation is truly astounding, and you never fail to impress me when you pile on to a poster while completely downplaying whatever it is that the topic is and blaming the poster for the problem.

BRAVO PC trolls, BRAVO!

Texas appears to be becoming the shit hole of humanity. It attracts all sorts of stupid.

It'll be funny when in the future it turns out that Texan residents went mental due to contaminated water from all the fracking they allowed.

Last I checked, Texas is sticking a broom in other state's asses and turning it.

Enjoy your marathon bombing, school shooting, hippie loving states. We will be busy shooting them before they can do much - oh... and having a prospering economy and not crying about water.

Yes we are. And I just love to read all the Texas bashing from all those broke, yellow belly yankee states who don't know a thing about Texas, while their much hallowed yank states are being flushed down the toilet economically.

The best thing about P&N to me is the constant reminder how good I have it.
I can't imagine living in such constant misery displayed here

BTW, please explain to me why I would want any personal interactions at all with brainwashed Muslim cultists who think I'm a heathen and want me dead for it just because their fairy tale commands it.

And I also don't hang out with gang bangers, Scientologists, or Baptists, either, so what, and why should I?

Hmmm. How many ministers stood up for the right of the Westboro Baptist Church to protest the way they did? How many public officials stood up for the right of the Westboro Baptist Church to protest the way they did? The people who did all they could to legally block the Westboro Baptist Church from protesting at military funerals must all be evil, anti-freedom loving people.

Ahhh, they fully support their country's leaders. Then again, if they say anything contrary to what their leaders believe, they're killed. Are you sure there's full support? By your rubric to determine who is peaceful and who isn't, all American must be the most blood-thirsty vermin around. How many wars have we fought in that weren't even on our continent? How many missiles, bombs, ammo, guns, etc., have we supplied to people around the world? How many people have we killed by using drones? How many people have suffered because we wield our supreme economic power against their country? Yep, we're all pretty violent people here.

There are Islamic countries where just about the only primary education (brainwashing) the people receive is the Koran, at least until they reach middle school age. Then they might teach them some math, like "If Mohammad chops the heads off 100 Infidels, and 5 stay attached at the neck, how many heads does Mohammad have?"

So, when you claim most of the Muslims are peaceful people, you have completely failed to address the fact most of them are brainwashed and hardwired for jihadi violence from a very early age in most Islamic dominated countries.
