Guy is on a rampage, killed two people so far, another 6 wounded according to last count... according to local KNTV he's got a handgun and a rifle.

wonder how long it's going to take the politians to take advantage of the crisis and try to enact stricter gun control?

Please do not give any excises, Mr. Allman is a poster child of the NRA armed citizen, he has a constitutional right to spend more time with his daughter, and shows the entire nation how to best assert his constitutional rights.

Immediately point granted, I am being far too harsh on the NRA, but when the NRA is out in lala land advocating gun rights for all, and preventing all governmental oversight on guns, they are always going to empower real nut cases like Mr. Allman.

I may consider myself as a responsible hunter, who used to hunt Pheasant and Quail in my local area with a shotgun, before clear cut farming methods wiped out the Pheasant and Quail population in my local area, but when Mr. Allman is using both a .40 caliber pistol and a .223 caliber assault rifle, we have to immediately realize both are worthless for legitimate hunting and should not be carried openly in any city area.

In the 1930's the NRA was a fine organization for the responsible gun owners, and now its been hijacked by socially irresponsible nuts, and turned into a political lobbying organization and now we socially have to realize, there are too many downsides to the NRA stupidity. As this nation gets it face rubbed into the NRA bullshit again again again and again. And here is just one more example of the NRA poster child armed citizen.

Yeah, my regular route to work was blocked by cops looking for this guy, had to take a detour. Maybe the 4 am meetings made him go postal.

First, just cause I have to get this out there, go fuck yourself you ignorant fascist nazi piece of shit prick.

Now that that's out of the way, please indicate to me what the NRA has to do with this case? There are dozens of responsible, positive gun organizations out there enacting real change in our politics for a pro-gun outcome. Many/most of the major events of the last few years have been squarely on them, not the NRA. The NRA has become mostly just another ultra-conservatard political organization that accomplishes next to nothing on the firearms front.

Just what would you change, how would you do it, and what actual impacts would it have upon society? You give me something that would actually work, and I'll campaign for it.

Is it just me or does Shareef Allman (this morning's shooter) look like Delroy Lindo?

It was in Cupertino, not San Jose. The guy is supposedly holed up somewhere in Sunnyvale.

California has some of the strictest gun laws in the nation in spite of the NRA's efforts. The fact that you're trying to blame the NRA for a shooting in a state whose laws openly defy the NRA's ideal is laughable.

You might as well blame Iceland for a kidnapping in Somalia.

How is some psycho shooting people a "NRA poster child"? Oh nevermind, that's just your usual deluded anti-gun stupidity coming through.

Innocent people dead in a state with strict gun control laws... TIME TO PUSH FOR MORE GUN CONTROL! Not even a word of sympathy from you.

Pathetic.

Earth to MemeNT, you just got another wake up call on why NRA policy empowers crazy gun owners. And why responsible gun hunters should oppose NRA policies.

Don't like what I have to say, get over it, I stand behind what I said, because if rational gun owners don't reject NRA policies, the ban all guns forces that are somewhat equally ignorant will win the day.

Hmm, I like your style, never let a crisis go to waste. Hopefully when this case is put to rest you feel like you accomplished something.

In the meantime, people kill people!!!!!!

As MomenNT fails to realize, only irrational people kill people and having un constricted access to guns is the best way to make it possible for people to kill people,

Mr Allman is the NRA version of Mr. Everyman, have gun will travel, and use it on fellow citizens. Sounds more like only guns kill people to me.

Is that the NRA answer that everyone should carry guns so every road rage incident will be settled by guns?

I thank God I live in a region of the country where I need not carry a gun and people need not carry guns to protect themselves against NRA powered criminals.

So in addition to batshit crazy you're also completely ignorant of the NRA. Speaking as a member who regularly reads NRA statements and literature, I have never read or heard anything about unrestricted access to guns. In fact the NRA has condemned such shootings and is currently condemning the ATF for allowing unrestricted access to guns (irony much?).

And yes, the NRAs philosophical argument would be that if the majority of the populace were armed, attacks like this would be less frequent and far less extended. If this shooting had happened in Kennesaw GA, where every household able to own a gun is required to do so, this idiot probably would have been shot in the opening minute.

And no, there are no gunfights in the streets of Kennesaw. In fact in the 30 years they've had this mandate, burglaries have dropped 80+%, and murders are all but unheard of.
http://archive.newsmax.com/archives/articles/2001/3/27/223955.shtml

But go ahead, keep towing the party line of the Brady Campaign and Bill Mahr. I love how the left keeps predicting wild-west gunfights with any loosening of gun rights, and yet when said loosening fails to produce these fights, or any rise in crime at all, they continue their blind bleating. It gets even better when they blame shootings in strict gun-control states on gun rights lobbyists who by any definition have little power there. I don't understand how anyone who purports him/herself to be rational and logical can completely skip over the gaps in their own thinking like a broken record player.

But then again, we are talking about the party that gives Obama a pass on Guantanamo and blames Palin's bullshit rhetoric when a Senator gets shot. Funny thing is, it's also the left that was saying violent video games don't adversely affect kids. So according to lefties: violent video games, where you run around personally executing people, don't have a negative affect on kids; but mildly militant words have a huge negative affect on adults?

I could go on with the contradictions, and the right isn't any better, but at least the right has the balls to come out and say "yeah, we contradicted ourselves. Deal with it." whereas the left takes this aloof "holier than thou" attitude and rationalizes itself to death.

Less anyone stupidly accuse me of being a partisan, as things currently stand I'll probably be voting for Obama.

I think he's trolling. I have a hard time he can actually feel what he is saying is constructive to the gun control debate.
