Gears of War 2 on a low difficulty is a short game. Like 6-8 hours I'd say?
I blew through it on a low level cuz I wasn't really interested in the game, but the story ended up being pretty cool.

under 10hrs?

yea. i played uncharted on the hardest difficulty they allow from the start (you unlock an even harder one after you beat it) and i think i finished it in 11-12 hours. it would for sure be shorter on the easier difficulty.

uncharted is probably the best single player experience i had in 2007 for certain, the story sucks you in and the characters are very believable and the game is by far the most cinematic game i've ever played.

heavenly sword is like 5-6 hours.

Ya, I think I played on easy cuz I just wanted to get it over with. Zipped through it in a weekend. I'm pretty sure it wasn't over 10 hours, time flew. Normal might be over 10 if you die a few times and have any trouble, on easy I didn't die once, so it was just straight through the game.

A HUGE +1, if you've not played Portal, give it a whirl. You might as well pick up The Orange Box so you can get Half Life 2 + expansions (all are relatively short-ish games).

Gears of War/GoW 2 aren't terribly long.

Also, if you've not played it Resident Evil 4 is a great game and can be beaten relatively quickly (I wanna say I was getting through it in ~ 6 1/2 hours). I haven't played the Wii version, it uses the remote to aim.

No games to list, really, but I have the same issue. But instead of playing shorter games, I find I'll just play them on the easiest mode possible.

Particularly when achievements don't require you to be at a certain level, I'm all about playing on "easy/casual" and just mindlessly plow through enemies/missions/whatever.

Fallout 3, Saints Row 2, and Fable II (no difficulty setting, but the whole game is in "easy" mode) - are my most recent ones. No achievement punishment for playing on easy.

I always play games on the easiest setting. Heavenly Sword, Uncharted, MGS4, Gears 1/2, Halo, etc. I like the experience more than the challenge. I like to relax while playing games, not be pissed off .

Heavenly Sword tops my list of awesome short games. You can get through it 6 hours on the easiest difficulty.

i tend to avoid easy. sometimes when u put it on easy the AI is so dumb it makes the game silly. thats why i usually stick to "normal"

From what I've seen, outside of sports games, "easy mode" doesn't make the AI dumb, it just makes your character god-like. I know in Fallout 3, enemies acted the same, but I was just running up to them basically unharmed and beating them to death with a pipe.

I'm a fan of the "win-button".

COD4 single player was pretty short and had some of the coolest gaming levels I've played.

"All Guillied Up" and the "Death From Above" are brilliant.

This, but its the best 4-5 hours you will ever have. The flashback SGT. sniping mission alone is worthy. Man, my heart was thumping throughout that whole mission!

Half Life 2 is kinda long IMO, but Episodes 1 and 2 are pretty short.

++ on COD4 and Portal. I've also heard about Heavenly Sword being short but sweet, but I haven't played it.

Battlefield: Bad Company was pretty short. I liked the comical aspect.

I've had a lot of fun with it online too.

Not that short. I've heard 15 hours.

Dead Space might be a bit shorter. I haven't finished that one, but it's basically RE4 in space.

You must play portal. One of my favorite games of all time, and its very short.

I also highly recommend left 4 dead. Its very bite sized with a ton of replay value, and theres nothing else like it.

There are a lot of good live arcade games too for people with short attention spans... when I want a short burst of gaming geometry wars 2 is a ton of fun.. well worth the $10.
