Part of the problem is that a lot of people are probably still under contract at ATT and I suspect many would rather wait it out a bit more than drop a few hundred to switch and pay another few hundred for the same phone on another carrier. Be more interesting once ip5 comes out and when these ATT contracts start to run out. Could be more of a gradual move than a sudden shift like many were calling for.

Yeah this is what I think too - come July when the first round of 3GS contracts run out, I think the pace of switchers will pick up.

The Verizon version can't surf and phone chat at the same time. I'll wait until it gets warmer.

Verizon's LTE network will cure that and allow you to talk and use data simultaneously. There's also suppose to be an update to Verizon's CDMA network that will allow voice and data simultaneously but it'll require updated devices and in light of the fact their LTE network will support this, it might be too little too late.

If you extrapolate Chikita's data, assuming 6.5 million active iPhones on AT&T, there are 250,000 Verizon iPhones active already. After looking at their iPad data when the iPad launched, they're in the ballpark with those figures and percentages...

There's likely a large number of folks waiting to port their numbers as well, IIRC, Verizon gives you 30 days to activate and port before they bill you for the full price of the phone.

i guess nobody wanted to be stuck with a year old phone. i guess some people would rather have the lte phones coming out at the end of the month. weird.....

Heh, my brother signed a new contract on a 3GS for $200 a week before iphone 4 came out

It's not only the fact that the verizon iphone is 7 months old and many are waiting for the iphone5... it's also the fact that there are Verizon stores on every corner in addition to places like best buy selling them. There are relatively few apple stores where people could go line up to get the iphone.

I do think there will be more of a line for the iphone 5...

It is kind of funny though. The wife of a friend of mine went into verizon to pay a bill on the iphone 4 release day. There was nobody there and she had sales people swarm onto her until they found out she only wanted to pay a bill...
