You are a predictable and sad jackass.

2011 I guess Obama was a great leader for bringing out the best in Jared Loungher.

Welcome to my ignore list.

I was referring to it in a much broader sense. On one side of it, every right wing creepazoid in America crawled out from under their rock to cheer him on & a fair number of progressives took on the rhetorical style of their opponents because reasoning with their counterparts got them nowhere. People held in thrall to a great charlatan obviously aren't very reasonable. They hear only what they want to hear.

The poisonous rhetoric pushes fringe people right over the edge whether they're left or right. If we look back over the last 20 years or so it's obvious who's been spewing the vast majority of it & that's not Libs.

Yea,

Dude had a less than stellar past with a propensity for violence and a bad temper. All around douche from these reports. It doesn't appear that he had mental issues other than being an anti-social asshat. He was a progressive and this attack was politically motivated. I am not delusional enough to believe that people who share my worldview are incapable of violence.

Currently right wing murderous violence far outstrips left wing violence in America. That could change and may be in fact may be changing. Both sides could become more violent as the nation's middle class slides into oblivion. It has happened over and over again in human history. When economic prosperity leaves, violence and anarchy replace it.

I know it was a GOP gathering, but if you think those people are actually interested in their own personal gun ownership, then I've got a bridge to sell you. They just want your vote, and they know your button.
Guess they can't.

But Williams suggested he would feel “safer” if he were allowed to carry a gun on Capitol Hill, reminding reporters that he’s “a big Second Amendment guy” -- and said “we probably ought to take a look at our security in big groups like that.”

Doyle, too, suggested that could be the solution: “I think when you’re in an area with 30 or 40 members, where anyone can walk through, we need to re-think that—but I think most members would tell you they feel fine and they’re not looking for any security.”

Rep. Thomas Massie, R-K.Y., took calls for additional security a step further on Thursday by re-introducing legislation that would allow those who have concealed carry permits in their home states to carry in Washington D.C.

back to the "never let a good tragedy go to waste" amirite?

But it's not unusual for carpetbaggers to keep trying to legislate on behalf of DC and its actual citizens.

My solution is that Trump personally pay for the security of Congress people.

Meanwhile in the right's lovely little bubble Alex Jones is actually just literally advocating violence and talking about how easy it is to kill.

I mean killing people is easier than cooking dinner (laughs). I mean see you understand like killing people is like going on a bird hunt. I mean its real easy, and real men do it like they put their boots on in the morning.

This is going to get ugly.

That's fair - I don't dispute that it's early yet. But to be fair again, you guys mentioned the Loughner comparison.

You're arguing that absence of firm proof is proof of firm absence. The entire point of this is that there's people with serious mental issues that make them prone to violence, and they listen to radicalized rhetoric and actually seriously listen.

Yeah I took my usual venture to sites like freerepublic etc... yesterday and the responses were disturbing. I swear I have been waiting for Trump to tweet something about Unity while chastising the "loser dems" for not getting along.

This is why we can't have nice things.

Yeah, if freepers weren't busy paying their social security into JimRob's Olive Garden budget I'd be worried they'd be trying to put me up against a wall. It isn't even fun going there anymore. It used to be that I could wistfully dream for a few minutes that Obama was actually bringing us forward into a fully automated gay luxury communist utopia with equality for all when I read their ravings. Now it's just a bunch of people who sound like they're amping themselves up to be a replay of the SS, and not even the competentish ones that could almost fight like actual army soldiers, I'm talking the borderline suicidal butchers in formations like Dirlewanger. (Protip: Don't actually look up accounts of what they did in Poland. Just don't.)

I ventured over here after avoiding the site for quite a while and aside from Perknose demonstrating what a good moderator looks like I am mostly reminded of why I chose to stay away from here.

I guess I'll sign out in a moment but I'll first note that civility starts with ourselves.

Comments that are to the effect of "Why can't those goddamned fucking Republicans be NICER?" are just fuel on the fire.

If you want civility then be civil. It's that simple.

Have a great day.

Trump whipped 'em into a frenzy. They like the way it feels. So manly.

To quote many trump supporters during the election.

Fuck your feelings

I am sure though you completely miss the irony of your post.

Well, yeh, but what would you expect from a bunch of Freedom hating low-T Commies, Cucks, Losers, Tree huggers, welfare moochers & baby killers?

Isn't it all about their delicious liberal tears, anyway?

Conservatives discarded civility decades ago. So oppressive.

It feels like it was just last year that conservatives were so offended that liberals were so offended about the behavior at Trump rallies. Oh my!

Anyway, I don't know what it's going to take to heal all these intentional wounds. I think the internet and social media is pure poison. Pretty much everyone, I believe, has a tendency to just get along in most real life settings (eh, except for family, obviously).

I'm simple enough to think that real beer summits actually help. I know it would work for highland and myself. I'm not sure about the rest of you snowflakes, though.

I'm pretty simple. If you can agree that everyone's a human being whose well being and happiness matters, then I'll cordially debate with you. If you can't deal with that I will tolerate you exactly as much as I have to and no more.

Maybe someone in the Republican party should explain to their useful idiot base that when you control the official levers of power, despite having minority public support, centered in rural areas and among the elderly, rocking the status quo boat and causing a breakdown of norms in urban centers of political and economic power is not in your best interest.
