It would be extremely unlikely for a 22 year old to own an "assault weapon" that has been banned for over 13 years.

Jules turn.

As for Pees Morgan, he can thank his countries rabid colonialism as the cause of America's violence and gun culture. Down with the Queen!

Nobody watches CNN anyways.

Piers Morgan is already calling for an assault weapons ban.

Rifles are statistically pretty much never used in homicides/crimes, so it's always been a mystery why there was ever a push to ban them instead of handguns.

The LAX incident affected me today. my cousins were flying in from Canada to attend a wedding with their flights arriving at 10am - one had to fly back to Canada and the other's flight was diverted to a San Diego airport... dinner plans canceled and I haven't seen them in 15 years...

So all those children at Sandy Hook and that TSA agent today were pretty much killed by a statistic then?

Look, I've been a gun owner since 1991, I own 13 guns, 5 of which are handguns, a couple shotguns, a couple rifles and an assault rifle. I'm not anti-gun. I don't know what the answer is but I'm certain that more guns is not the answer.

You own a select fire rifle?

Look at the FBI stats and tell me how many people are murdered with rifles...
IIRC, more people are murdered manually by hand than with rifles...

More gun laws certainly aren't the answer...

Because people who hate guns find far more of a cause in stopping the rare person to die in a mass shooting (more likely to be a rifle) than in regular ole fashioned thug crime (handgun). It's their emotions that are responsible for this.

You really are a puzzling chap. Your posts speak of a guy who has quite a disdain for guns, or at the very least many gun owners, but you own a bunch of them. It reminds me very slightly of that black comedian (wth is his name, f**k my memory) who did the KKK skit but he was blind so he didn't know he was what he hated.

You don't know, yet you're certain? :|

What we do know is that bullet buttons, magazine capacity limits, waiting periods and universal background checks kept Californians safe today. Oh wait.

If you were concerned about the gun murder rate, you'd push to ban handguns, not AR-15's.

The push to ban AR-15's indicates other motives.

I'll admit that I like to play devil's advocate. I think it is good to challenge your beliefs. I don't hate guns, I really enjoy shooting them in fact. I do get frustrated with the rhetoric of gun owners though and I can certainly see the point of view of those who want to ban them particularly when their loved ones are the victims of gun violence. And 99.9% of you fuckers who own them will never ever use one to prevent a crime... I hate to break it to you. :ninja:

I haven't bought a gun in years. I probably shoot mine a couple times a year but that's about it. I sometimes go weeks without ever touching one... perish the thought.

Honestly, none of the guns I own have ever done anything to keep me safe. They have been a slight comfort at times that I've never had to use and an entertaining hobby, nothing more.

I don't want to ban them but I sure as hell don't want to play cop every day either.

Magazine capacity limits, waiting periods and universal background checks have been something I've lived with my entire gun owning life (which is going on 24 years-all of it in California as I never owned a gun prior to moving here). None of these laws has affected my family's safety at all.

Just like 99.9% of Americans will never be shot or shot at. That doesn't stop them trying to ban guns they find spooky. And actually even the most conservative statistics of self-defensive use of guns indicate that they're used more often in self defense than to commit crimes.

And a higher percentage than that will never be shot or shot at with a rifle of any type...

Eh... I'm not actually a fan of strict gun control, but your post doesn't really make much logical sense. First, you don't know that magazine capacity limits didn't prevent more casualties from taking place. Second, you don't know that he didn't buy the weapons outside of the state of California (unless I'm behind in the news). Acquiring the weapons legally outside of the state of California and then crossing the state lines and using them doesn't mean that the state of California failed.

I'm not sure I believe those "statistics" and how often are guns used for intimidation? I'd bet there are zero studies on that. Christ, two law abiding CCW holders shot and killed each other in Michigan a few months ago over a road rage incident. Tell me intimidation had nothing to do with that...

At least the guy stuck to his targets and was not just a mass, indiscriminate killing.

Bill Maher had an interesting take on it tonight. You should watch it. I hardly ever watch Piers Morgan but I do like Bill Maher.

Meh, I tuned out Bill Maher on gun issues when called the NRA the "Assassin's Lobby", and it's Friday. I don't really feel like watching something that's just going to piss me off.
