he was not saying that the word was provacative..., the point he was trying to make is that there is a word on her azz and it will draw attention to it.
There's nothing wrong with looking at the ass-area of an 8 year old. It becomes wrong when you look at the ass-area of an 8 year old and get woody.
Should 8 year old girls be allowed ...

I like how people feel like it's perfectly acceptable to impose their morality on other people.

I think this was the answer I was looking for.....so basically I am in the wrong because I am not either the girl or her parents, and thus even at 8 she should be allowed to do whatever...
I just love seeing decency go down the crapper.

And to answer a few from above, my problem was not with the text (Swim) but rather the placement...and for those who are arguing that T shirts have writing on the chest area, well yes it is a valid comparison however it is the same for men and women, wheras only women's shorts are sold with writing on the ass...where are my guy shorts with ass writing.

My point is who are you to impose your idea of decency on someone you don't personally know?

What would my knowing them have anything to do with the question at hand?...so basically you think that guys should be encouraged to check out the asses of 8 year old girls from your stance on the subject....
Would my knowing them make any kind of a difference? personally I think not. again I don't know who I am more upset with, the manufacturers for marketing to such a market, or the idiot parents who would allow their children to wear such an item....

So... should guys wear shorts that says "SALTY" on the front?
Saw one that said "Juicy".Originally posted by: SaigonK
I hate that crap, if you are 18 or older, fine..but your kid with that crap is ridiculous.
The worst is when i see them that say "baby girl" or crap like "hot stuff"

I don't think it's the word as much as it's the locatoin IMO. I think it draws people's eyes to the ass end of a girl whose ass you shouldn't be looking at. If I was a mother I wouldn't want people's attention to be drawn towards the butt of my 10 year old daughter. I am an old fuddie duddie though.Originally posted by: Zugzwang152
how is the word "swim" sexually provocative in any way?

He is saying that it isn't your place, or my place, to tell them what is right and wrong, or "decent".
Don't you love living in a so-called free country, where it's legal to turn your 8 year old into an attention whore-post slut, but illegal to smoke some crack in the comfort of your own trailer?

It is inappropriate, although "Swim" isn't that bad. The other ones I've seen, stuff like "Tease", or "Cutie" or something like that, is just downright wrong.

parents who condone or even promote this are just wrong and should be smacked?
I was in the supermarket today with my wife and we happened to walk by this mother who was trying to look like she was a good 20 years younger than she really was, and along with her was her daughter, couldn't have been more than 10 wearing these shorts with the word "swim" on the bottom...both my wife and I were just surprised by this as when we have kids we would never allow for that..
I don't know who I am more disapponted in, the clothing manufacturers for supplying kids with this stuff or the mother for allowing her daughter to wear it...
am I just being an old fuddie duddie or does anyone else see a problem with this, should we really be trying to get people to look at the asses of 8 year olds?
sorry just my rant.
