Should Dennilfloss be reinstated

I have no idea what he did first hand (guess I joined slightly after the incident) but from reading the comments I say 'no' to letting him back in. He probably contributed more than I ever have, but he also caused alot more pain. Let the past die people

i don't really care one way or the other. he's REALLY wierd, but being weird isn't a crime. i'd like to see some of the other members banned brought back first, like shinerburke, texmaster, jerboy, etc. those guys were hilarious.

A lot of people here demanded Tomato be banned when they thought she was the one who posted the shens about she being pregnant. So maybe us here are not as trusting as the member a few years ago.

texmaster was the polar opposite of dmcowen. having him back would make for some amusing threads.

I doubt Dennis was also WW. When I think about it, I don't really care whether he should be let back in or not. If not, fine. If so, great. It's been five years. People can change quite a bit in a much shorter length of time. If you choose not to trust him, fine. There are very few people on these boards whom I legitimately trust but I don't go whining that everyone else should be banned. Hell there are people here that I legitimately don't like and I don't bitch about them being permabanned either. Just let him back in and watch him just like the mods watch everyone else. :thumbsup:

Politically the polar opposite, but dmcownen doesn't take it to a personal level like tex did, not even close. He was an internet flamefest. Jerboy was different, altho was just as capable of creating an aura of hostility around him.

How could I not know about this whole ordeal? I read the register link earlier in the thread, and I find the whole thing quite fascinating. When I think about what happened, on one hand, it was a very bad thing to do. I'm sure many people were lied to in the process, and I'm sure many here expressed true emotion, which would be quite embarassing after the hoax was revealed. But on the other hand, no one was actually hurt or put out in any way (atleast not to my knowledge). I can the same happening to any of the other morons here, and like someone else said earlier, I'm sure it only happened because it snowballed out of control. Unfortunately, Denis took the stupid way out and had his imaginary gf killed, instead of them just breaking up and her leaving the forums.

All in all, I don't really see a reason to let him back in. Not only has the forums done fine without one member (and will continue to do so, this goes for any single member on the forums), I don't think it'd be in his best interest to even post here anymore under his original nick. Every post would turn into a flame war.

No kidding, the Anandtech age of innocence is far behind us now and a lot of folks who used to really set this place apart have gone elsewhere save Red Dawn and ROSSman to name a couple. My only dealings with Dennil had to do with SETI @ Home and Team Anandtech Cube. It really makes no difference to me if he's let back in or not. BTW, dmcowen, how did your ordeal with that turn out? I apologize for not following more closely, but I've only recently started posting here reglarly after about 3 years of just stopping by from time-to-time.

BTW: I posted a thread awhile back about forgiveness to judge peoples reactions because Dennis is a member of my forum and asked me to PM the mods with his request to be reinstated, which I did.

As far as I know, the MODS are still considering it....
