anyways, i have a question i'm hoping someone here can answer. my girlfriend for 8 months today told me a little while ago she was going to go to the gynocologist to get on the pill. now usually that would be a great thing for me to hear, but this is an online relationship(yes they do work ) and i haven't even met her in person so the first thought that came to my mind was "why would you do that? i'm over a thousand miles away, not like anything's going to happen at that distance " and she said something about it would make her period regular(as it is extremely irregular, has been for 4 years) now i know nothing about the pill, so i don't know if there is truth to this or not. i don't suspect she's cheating on me and hasn't the nerve to break it off, but she has been acting kind of odd lately, but also having problems at home which could account for that. should i be suspicious or are there valid reasons for someone to go on the pill who isn't having sex?

i hope that made some sence, i've been losing sleep over this and i can't make all that much sence or anything right now. thanks

I'm no expert, but if she were doing anything behind your back why wouldn't she just say she's going to the gyno to get something checked out. I mean, that would just be the stupidest thing in the world to say if she were cheating on you

So if she ain't quite right upstairs then maybe you should be nervous

Yeah, I think these pills control some hormones, and consequently, regularizes (is this correct?) her period.

A friend of mine told me she was on these pills, and in my head I went "WTF???" Then I remembered that these can be used for controling periods.

Yes, the pill makes your period regular. As a woman who is awfully irregular, I can tell you that the pill is a godsend! Also, if you have terrible menstrual symptoms (cramps, etc.) the pill can lessen those symptoms. I got on the pill before I was in a relationship with anyone, and if I were to get divorced and wasn't dating, I'd STILL be on the pill. I don't know this girl, but yes there is a valid medical reason why she'd be on it without being sexually active.
